I have some liquid anastrozole left over from a previous cycle that has been sitting around for a little over a year. It’s been stored in a closet so it’s been dark and room temperature the entire time.
Does anyone have any ideas on how the potency may be affected? I assume it’s less potent than when it was first produced but that is a complete guess. The liquid is polyethlyneglycol I THINK. It has a strong plastic-like taste which if I remember correctly is PEG, I could be wrong though. I’m not sure if the solvent matters or not.
I’m planning on ordering some more but I want to know if I should use this stuff up first or just chuck it.

Sure, great in theory if the company will respond. I’ve sent emails, and other correspondence about shelf lives of research products, and never got a response.
I was recently told by a research chem supplier that the shelf life is 6 months to a year depending on which chemical. That is also assuming that it is made right when you order it and not sitting around for months before shipped.
He also said that keeping them refrigerated extends the shelf life.

IFAIK the solvent isnt to much of a matter (as long as it is an alcohol… cos it is a preservative isnt it?
But the question is how stable is adex when suspended in it… does it degrade. Google (as you so often growl) is your best bet…

I actually have no idea which company it’s from. A friend ordered it for me and doesn’t remember. I googled questions about PEG as a solvent and most replies stated that it probably wouldn’t hurt.
I’m going to take my chances.
Thanks for the compliment. Gotta love what rack pulls and pullups can do…
Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ll just use whatever I have left. I think there is about 10ml left so I’ll get a few weeks out of it. I have some nolvadex as a back up plan just in case the adex doesn’t work.
