I just can’t believe you’re all still doing this shit. She’s not a troll, but rather an egocentric narcissist who likely truly believes she is better than the “less folks” she’s talking to on the internet because she’s a lawyer.
And for the record, Ohio is fucking TERRIBLE state. Just really god-awful, so don’t be surprised.

That was my take despite all argument to the contrary.
I’d shit on Ohio too but I’ve never been there.

lol. i’ll admit it takes me a bit of time to log. and to try and follow other peoples logs. i don’t have much in the way of in-person people i can talk to about my training, though, and i’m just starting (occasionally) to transition from beginner to intermediate so the things I learn from logging and reading are invaluable to me. people are really inspiring for me, too. gives me a reality check with respect to what women are capable of since i very rarely see women in the heavy weights room where i train. not quite sure how to compare myself to the guys with respect to progress etc so tend not to compare whereas when i see women here achieve various things i think that i might actually be able to do that, too, if i work my ass off!
i also live so many things vicariously. gymnastics, olympic lifting, powerlifting, soccer, running… get a lot of enjoyment reading about other peoples journeys and feel some bizarre sense of achievement myself when other people get PR’s or do well in competitions etc.
you could log here. or in the training log section. over 35 forums (don’t know how old you are). there might be other places people log, too. i think there are logs over in figure athlete but i’m not sure how active that part of the site is. up to you. i guess more people tend to follow logs posted in the same section.
nice to have you on T-Nation anyways :-)[/quote]
I’m 36. Maybe we should start a thread for women to log since it is hard to compare notes with the guys. Good points. I think we have a lot in common. I feel isolated too.

There’s parts that aren’t so bad.

Never been to Ohio. Lawyers are a dime a dozen.
Maym- I’d love to read about your training! Especially how you build muscle/get ripped like that. Theres been a couple girls that have done figure but never kept logs long enough.
Ohio awful? But it’s the coaster capital of the world! Any state that includes Cedar Point and King’s Island is good in my book (too bad about Geauga Lake and Americana though).

Today (Sunday) is my rest day. I do shoulders and arms on Monday so I’ll log that tomorrow after I work out obviously. I’m not going to log my diet until I do contest prep, as right now I’m keeping my protein intake to 125 grams or more but not really counting carbs or calories. Ok so here’s what I did yesterday (Saturday):
back squat (wide stance, break parallel, competition form) 45X5, 65X5, 85X5, 105X5, 125X5, 145X5(broke out the weight belt), 165X5(wt belt and wrapped knees with non-competition wrap), 185X5, 205Xfail…looked up and broke chain, 205X1(new PR for me)
front squat using aerobics step with to risers to tap butt against to bring ass past knee level 100X5,3, 95X4,5,5
romanian deadlift 135X5, 225X5,5,5,5,5
seated calf 90X8,8,8,8,8
cable pull throughs 47.5X8,8,8,8,8
calf press pause for 3sec at bottom, middle, and top 180X10, 230X7,7,8,6
@maym - this forum (Powerful Women) is where most of us ladies keep our logs. (As alexus points out, there’s also a log forum over on Figure Athlete but this one is a bit less neurotic, heh). Dive into any of the threads here if you’re interested. Some compete in powerlifting, some do oly, some do strong(wo)man, and a lot of us just lift to be more awesome.
That is a SERIOUS RDL!

Lol. Supposedly there’s some kind of cool gym in northwest Ohio, but I don’t think it’s too big of a deal.
And to be fair, Cedar. Point. Fucking. Owns.

You better suck Ohio’s cock.
That’s right.
YAH!!!
Is this one of those threads I can post strap ons and pentagrams in?

I’d follow!
congrats on your PR!
do you do a bodypart split?
do you follow a program or do you train a bit more see how you feel-ish?

Yeah, I do a body part split…its a traditional bodybuilder thing. I just started squating for form every workout day, as its my weakest lift and I’m trying to get the powerlifting form down versus the bodybuilding form. I’m thinking about going on a full body program. I currently do the same core lifts but change up the accessory lifts and play with the sets number/drop/super set depending upon how i feel. I sometimes jump rope in between sets for 30 seconds-1 minute.
Monday’s workout:
practice squat technique
barbell strict shoulder press 45X5, 55X5, 65X5, 75X5, 85X5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 95Xfailed
dumbell shoulder press seated starting and ending with thumbs at arm pit 35X8, 7, 6, 6, 4
lateral raise db 25X5/20X3, 25X5/20X3, 25X5/20X3
reverse fly machine 100X8, 7, 6
row attachment grip lat pulldown machine shoulder retraction 100X10,10,10
lat pulldown machine wide attachment with neural grip shoulder retraction 100X10, 120X6, 6
" " giant setted with
cable crossover low 5X10
“” high 10X12
“”@shoulder height 10X12
concentration curl 35X6,6,6
db tricep seated extension single arm 30X4, 25X8,6
incline db curl 25X8,7,8
cable tricep kickback 22.5X6,6,6
20 minutes on elliptical (waiting to teach my class)
taught yoga for an hour
Maym, I’d suggest you start your own log rather than use this thread - it’ll be easier to track your workouts there (for you and for anyone interested in following along). Those are some good shoulder presses.
ya, start a log! ![]()
