Originally I wanted to hit a weight PR but since I had to finish an assignment I didn’t get to train with the other guys. Since I suck at unracking I didn’t want to push it, so I did a rep PR instead.
Hitting PRs is obviously nice but I’m not enjoying the other exercises very much. Therefore I’m switching back to Sheiko! I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
Luckily it fits with 3 cycles before the meet, with a deload and a weeks vacation put in between.
There has been no training since Wednesday. My mom was involved in a car accident (nothing serious happened) so I’ve been at home helping her.
I’ll be back at the gym tomorrow. I’m going to start doing some cardio as well since I’m in horrible shape.

The first round of benching was decent but it went to hell from there. The squatting and the second round of benching was horrible, but at least I got the reps I was supposed to do.
I imagine the following conversation took place during the squats:
Brain: WTF body? Why is this so heavy?
Body: Pwned! That’s what you get for eating shit all weekend.
Brain: Surely you can’t be serious?
Body: I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley! trololol
I also got my order of protein powder today. Takes up whey more space than I imagined (pun intended). It even takes up more space than all my guitars put together.
Now I just hope I can stand it, since it’s unflavored.
Read this log up since we were on page 2… I can handle a log in its birth stages but have mad respect for anyone who attempts to glean anything from my 20+ pages of random.
Awesome squatting, I’m wearing oly shoes these days too and loving them, doubt if I’m sinking my squats as much as you though! Good job on the squat PR and the meet success. I have a way to catch up with you on the squat, but smolov is putting me on the gaintrain… so make sure you stay ahead! We are similar levels bench press wise so we can have a race to being non-shit-pressers if you want?

To be honest I’ve been lurking in your log a while so it’s not that impressive.
I’m not sure you’re way behind. I don’t think I’ve ever done 5x5 with 140. If you got used to going closer to your max I’m certain 180 would be right around the corner.

Well I’m hoping for at least 165 to depth after the next 5 smolov sessions, I’d be pretty delighted with 170 but time will tell. We’ll work on that bench hard.

In other news my laptop got a virus yesterday. Luckily it was easy to get away but it’s still pretty annoying. Especially since I wasn’t visiting any sites I hadn’t visited before so I wonder where it came from.

The pause DLs felt tough to begin with but got pretty good after a few sets. Incline and dips were “strong”. Nice to hit a dip PR.
The box DL felt super since it let me use a sumo stance, which I can’t do in our rack. Unfortunately I can never do them again, since it breaks the plates underneath according to the owner of the gym. I’ll try to figure out what to do instead next time.
Lunges were light with a focus on getting a nice stretch.
Yeah but you train in a home gym right?
I probably wouldn’t be allowed to bring it. The gym is kinda small and really packed with machines.
Although we do have a squat box that can be taken apart. If the segments are the same height I guess I could use them. The gym owner is way too strict in some regards.
