I just saw a news report that said people are selling organs such as kidneys to rich people that need them. I would not do this. In some countries organs like kidneys are selling for hundreds of thousands. Would any of you guys sell an organ…Just curious. I think it’s crazy.

No way! You mean I could have got more than twenty quid for that old Yamaha I had?
Seriously though, no, I wouldn’t. No matter how much money was offered.
I’d give one willingly though to a friend or loved one.
Hundreds of thousands for a kidney?
I don’t know what, exactly, the repercussions of losing a kidney would be. But I’d certainly consider it (and do some research before heading to the chop shop).
Hmm. People throughout history have been willing to sell all sorts of things to protect their families and livelihoods. I suppose, were my back to the wall, I would do the same. Obviously it would have to be a compelling situation. My child going hungry or needing an operation, that type of thing.

Well, right now the black market is where they turn for organs if you actually have the cash. There are too many people dying the world over (especially during war time) to think someone is not taking advantage of it. It just isn’t big news.
I am betting that if someone offered many here 100 grand or more for a kidney, more than would admit would take that offer.

I’d seriously consider it. You only need one to live.

The thing that would discourage me the most would be the fact that this is illegal. Imagine what kind of doctor you’d be dealing with. Would let him put you under and cut on you however he likes?
I thought there was a movie about this sort of thing, haven’t seen it yet.

Yeah, but people do stupid things and take larger risks for less profit all the time.
I’m guessing people would be willing to sell a kidney for much less than $100K also.

If I can sell one of your kidneys on the black market for $100,000, then I might as well take both and make it $200,000. Then I wouldn’t have to pay you for them at all. There’s also your liver, pancreas, heart. Seems like they’d be worth a lot too.
Its suppose to be common in third world countries, they usually get about 3-5 thousands dollars which is a lot for them but the people who buy them from the people sell them for probably 100k+
you only need one kidney for your body to function fine, and you only need part of a liver because it grows back lol…
Just wanted to post this up, in case anyone is interested. (jk)
Kidney: $100,000
Part of Liver: $70,000
1 Testicle: $250,000
Any takers? PM Me if you’re interested.
It would be cool if we could grow organs in vitro for transplants.
I wouldn’t even begin to consider selling a kidney for under $250K, absent the compelling need I mentioned above (hungry/sick child scenario). Even over the $250K I’m not sure I’d be willing to do it. I think I’d have trouble sleeping, worried that I’d somehow jinxed myself or let greed cloud my long term judgment.
On the other hand, like Renton said there are a small handful of people to whom I’d give a kidney without hesitation. I wouldn’t lose a moment of sleep worrying about my remaining kidney because I’d feel square with karma, or whatever.
Some things are worth dying for. As long as I can manage my basic needs, money isn’t one of them.
I lease my penis on an almost daily basis to attractive females.
I’d say no biggie, but I know most of you would jump on that one.
It really depends on how badly I needed the money. Given my current situation I wouldn’t sell an organ, but I can definitely see why someone who is poor would do it.

It’s that scar that I can’t get my head around. Is it still as huge and ugly as it used to be. Maybe if they could do a designer scar, you know something cool like a lightening bolt striking my ass!
100K sounds high for a kidney.
For a heart, liver, or pancreas I can see that kind of price.

Interesting observation. The “poor” would probably be the only ones selling. I can’t see Donald Trump selling one for cash.

Trump. Lol, with all his money, you’d think he could buy a decent hairpiece.
