Does anyone have a word to describe the experience of “seeing things in a new light” or “seeing things as if for the first time”?
I can’t think of an english word that will really do the job, but I could be missing it, or perhaps someone knows that word in a different language.
Thanks for the help!

“EPIPHANY” is a good start.
Mufasa
Epiphany.
How did I miss that!?
Thanks!
Still interested to hear anyone has a similar word for the concept in Japanese or whatever.

A-ha Erlebnis?
Maybe “Satori”?

Satori is good, thanks!
The term we use for this in theological circles is “metanoia”
It is greek and roughly means the total change of one’s mind.
It pretty much sums up what you’re looking for, I think.
An awakening, perharps. Satori is japanese and as a very specific meaning

I believe the term you’re looking for was best expressed by Keanu Reeves in the Matrix:
“Whoah”
or, if you’re for the more obscure, requiring the audience to have actually seen the matrix:
“I know kung fu”
Enlightenment?
I like the term “Nascent Reflection”.
One of my coworkers, after being down and depressed for a while, came to me one morning and said, “You know, I had a revolution last night.”
