This topic ought to make for a good thread. The following article makes a case for secession of individual states from the union.
Oh yeah, I like this idea.

And after this let’s take it even further:
Counties/Parishes secede from the states; cities secede from the counties/parishes; neighborhoods/communities secede from cities; individuals secede from communities/neighborhoods and declare themselves kings of their own “castles”.

Feudal society FTW…kind of.
Not feudal because we would assume those who do not own property would be able to voluntarily decide who their landlords and employers will be. Under a feudal system none would have a choice because they would be mere vassals to their lords. That is definitely not what we would want. We want more choices. This would be anarchy or a naturally ordered society.
Look up the writings of Max Stirner and Hakim Bey. Secession won’t be granted to you, you have to create your own space.
How would these states defend themselves, With what army.

Going out on a limb, going to say the National Guard of said state would be the said states military (“a well regulated militia”).

If thats the case then the more liberal states with crazy gun laws are going to be screwed…

Why does there have to be any kings. ![]()

Because with socialization comes hierarchy.
People fall into complex patterns of behavior when dealing with one another. In regards to the creation of authority figures, the relevant trend is usually submission to a dominant personality – a kind of collective shyness – or deference to one who possesses the qualities described as leadership. To whatever end, leadership can be summarized as charismatic decisiveness.
Eventually, a burgeoning society creates a title for the naturally assumed role.
Politics – in all its manipulative majesty – is something more, but there will always be kings, naturally.

Well, I was being partially euphemistic but imagine if there was no aggressive authority over your life you’d essentially be your own “king”. I was just trying to illustrate a point that anarchism is just a form of “poly-archism” where everyone is the leader of their own life.

It’s called self defense. “National Defense” is a myth.

Yes, I know and I was just waiting for the reply that came from Mangush. It is understandable that you said that, however, with that you be careful because kings conjure up the thought that one person rules over another. Which I would be complete content to live out in the sticks and have everyone leave me alone.
P.S. That is the case except for the government wanting my money.

Yes, I suppose it could make for a good discussion. But, I’m laughing heartily at even the suggestion. That will never, ever, ever happen.

Maybe not in your or my lifetime but it will happen.
Nothing man made can last forever.
