As a side note, SEAL team 6 was referenced in the movie The Rock as the team that went in and got annihilated.
Seal Team 6 is also featured in Metal Gear Solid 2 for the PS2.

How can she be “inspired” by music from a band defunct when she was 2 years old?
Wrong. Alice In Chains and Soundgarden are 2 of the best bands ever. And if it weren’t for Nirvana, that wussy hair-metal of the 80’s probably would have gone on longer than any real rock fans could tolerate.

First off, take that back.

and secondly…take that back

I think I nailed that chick on the right. Said her name was Rikki.

If anyone would like to learn more about SEAL Team 6, read this book:

Marcinko was basically the baddest of the badasses.

Any input on this, Gregron? Or would you have to kill us if you told us?
Lol… I was out at DEVGRU for a while when I was in and have quite a few buddies who are still there now (one of mh best friends is deployed right now) have only gotten a few emails from him but we don’t talk about work stuff really, only “have you been busy lately or has it been pretty boring/slow?” that sorta thing.

There are quite a few legit pieces of info in here and quite a lot of hype… But yeah. Kick ass what those guys got to do.

Wow, you’re my new hero. I had a buddy of mine who was discharged (dishonorably) from BUD/s. I’ve always wanted in but a series of unfortunate coincidences kept me from trying out. But I do understand the short, muted discussions about work. I can imagine it’s not really the kind of stuff you’re allowed to openly chit-chat about.

Okay…according to Wikipedia, there IS no SEAL Team 6. It was dissolved in 1987:

SEAL Team 6 was dissolved in 1987. The operators of SEAL Team Six established the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group, also known as DEVGRU. While DEVGRU is administratively supported by Naval Special Warfare Command, they are operationally under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command.
You honestly believed that Wikipedia of all places would have reliable info on a special ops unit?
According to the actual SEAL site, there are teams 1, 3, 5, 7 on the west coast, 2 4, 8, 10, on the east coast and others:

Some of you West Coast people might be surprised to find out what rests beneath the sand on the Southern California beaches, this is confirmed from a family member of mine who did contract work with Boeing.

All you people tanning, rollerblading, surfing, are sitting on a the entire Naval armament.

And you thought you only had to worry about sharks in the Pacific.
WAT. Please do tell us more. Can’t imagine La Jolla Shores housing subs and naval craft.

As a sidenote, there was an article out about how a destroyed U.S. helicopter recovered from the site looked nothing like the conventional heli’s used… makes sense now with who ever mentioned the advanced tech that SEAL 6 is privy to.

it was probably an MH-6… or a “little bird”

they’re sick

Maybe not La Jolla, but try Coronado.

Yeah, someone was quoted on CNN saying that any sort to new technology that’s in testing would be given to Team 6 first. They get all the good toys.

Just finished WARRIOR SOUL by Chuck Pfarrer who was also in 6. Eye-opening, and it gives you another perspective of Marcinko (not necessarily bad).

Gregron, would be fascinated with any stories you could share about DEVGRU (I know that may not be possible), the kind of guys who make it as operators etc.
