Agreed. I’m just affraid we as a society are becoming WAY to tolerant of personal conduct and deviant behavior. It’s not necessarily a Dem or Rep issue, but one side is definately more tolerant. Someone has to make the tough decisions and those who exhibit indecent behavior must be dealt with.
I used to be a republican. Now I hate them all equally. I can’t stand the lies of the right, and the inaction of the left. I just LOVE the “non-binding censure” the new senate cooked up. Nice way to bitch without actually doing a goddman thing.
Oh, and I’m a teacher, and I have to deal with this shit constantly. I need a license to hunt abusive parents and family members. I’ve had at least 3 students sexually abused this year, out of only 80 that I see. I DO NOT like those odds.

Just my own personal opinion, but what an adult does with himself, or two ANOTHER consenting adult, should be legal. I have nothing against deviancy, considering I AM one. However, Nothing sexual should ever be visited on a child. They fucking get that enough on TV and are oversexed as it is. Even the 6th graders I teach are nasty little individuals sometimes and highly sexually aware. It’s just gross.

Best way to help him is keeping him from troubling anybody else’s childhood, so the chain of abuse stops right there. And I don’t quite think I could refrain myself if someone abused a child of mine. That’s just not something you do, orientation or not.
I have 5 kids myself, if something like this happened to one of them I would pray the dude gets out in 60 days because I would simply handle it myself, these monsters can’t be cured and even if they could that is to F’ing bad because the damage they do to an innocent child cannot go away.
A news story here in Nebraska last night about two 13 year old boys who videotaped themselves molesting a 5 year old girl, then taping that girl and another 5 year old doing things to one another while a 3 year old boy lay by them naked, oh yeah, both the 13 year olds were on probation already for Burglary/assault/theft on separate occasions, in this case I would think the parents should go to trial right along with these current/future offenders!
You know, I had absolutely no idea how much of this kind of shit goes on until I started dating again after my divorce. I’d say that about 30% of the women I dated had been molested in some way and that’s just the ones who felt comfortable enough to tell me. One had been molested by her father, one by her brother and his friends, and a few more by their mom’s boyfriends. I can vouch for the fact that it totally screws the person up.
The difference between those who have suffered through this and those who haven’t is easy to see. In a case like this where the “judge” slapped the offender on the wrist, I’d have no problem with someone whacking the perp AND the judge.

I’m assuming that what you are trying to say is that justice and values are social constructs.
This is true.
But people all have an innate sense of what is right and what is wrong.

Look at Prof Ward Churchill at the University of Colorado. He says that all those who died on 9/11 deserved it, they were all a ‘bunch of little Eichmans’. (Eichman was commandant at Auschwitz).
