Canada does not have a rich history of slavery but it did exist. Canadians mostly enslaved Aboriginals while blacks were a distant second. I do not have the figure in front of me, but it was roughly 80% Aboriginal slaves and 20% blacks. To this day the Aboriginal community even with all the benefits they receive from the government have very serious problems in their community. Alcoholism, joblessness and incarceration rates exponentially higher than their representation in the population.
In this respect you can draw several parallels between the Native Canadian and African-American Community.
One thing kinda interesting: my elementary school was named after a female African-American abolitionist (Mary Shadd) and our school mascot was a train. Heh.

GAULS/CELTS and ENGLISHMEN aren’t the same people. The earliest recorded history of Britain is Julius Caesar’s invasions more than 2000 years ago(55 BC).
