"Riding a wave of positive publicity from her book tour, Sarah Palin’s favorable rating has crept within just 1 percent of President Barack Obama’s job approval rating, according to the latest polls by CNN and USA Today/Gallup.

The results suggest Palin has fixed the dent in her popularity ratings created this summer when she announced she was stepping down as governor of Alaska.

According to a CNN poll released Monday, 46 percent of voters now say they like Palin. That’s the same level of popularity she enjoyed before she resigned the Alaska governorship.

The Los Angeles Times’ Top of the Ticket blog commented Tuesday: "The very same polarization [seen with Palin] now holds true for Obama, the fresh fellow from the old Chicago Democratic machine who was supposed to bring hope and change to a nation tired of divisive politics and the harsh partisan tone of Washington.

One big worry for the president: Since November, his approval rating with independents has dropped 7 points, USA Today reports."

Not really a fan (not a hater either, though), but I could enjoy fours years of saying, “Oh you disagree with her? Obviously you’re a sexist!”

I’d be happy with just about anyone that isn’t a Laywer or life time politician. Oh and term limits for all in public office.

Who knows a woman with a not so prefect family and some guts may be the answer

Not sure how you can compare resonses to a poll on Sarah to Presidential approval ratings. They are asking different questions so how can you compare the results?

There are probably a lot of people more popular than Obama that people would not want as a president

Read her book and judge what you think. Understand some of the bias against her, then decide. Ronny Reagan wasn’t very popular with the libs.

I doubt that the conservatives can do it without the libertarians and if you insist on “putting the gay behind the dumbster” or on the WOD, or that everyone has to bow to your god, no deal.

Oops, you forgot to consider her high negative poll numbers brought to you by the main stream liberal media which was in the tank for Obama and will remain there. The press did such a number on her in 08’ that she has no chance to become President. Stop wishing, it won’t happen. The biggest mistake the republicans could make is to make Sarah Palin their nominee. The liberal media had their way with her and will do it again only sooner and harsher than before.

The republicans need someone who is savvy, and appeals directly to a wide range of the political spectrum in a way that gives the press second thoughts before they begin to destroy the candidates good name.

In short, we need another Ronald Reagan or you can count on four more years of Obama. It will be difficult for any candidate to take on Obama and the press, but it can be done.

What is more acceptable, racism or sexism? You realize that it could come down to that. If you disagree with Obama you are deemed a racist, would it be any more acceptable to be deemed a sexist for disagreeing with Palin? Makes you wonder.

It amazes me that some of you are so stupid. Establishment candidates will continue to do the same thing regardless of party and backround an how hot they are, or how much of a woman they are. They are puppets who have thier strings pulled by the same poeple. Stop watching the damn cable news and do something productive. The TV is your enemy, you can get all your world news through online sources twice as fast and hear 7 different spins on it. Cable news is entertainment. They are selling you advertisements, they do not care about the quality of the news or the objectiveness of it, they only want to make money by you buying htier advertisers products. The more interesting they can make the news, the more money they can make.

I would Poll her, but I would never vote for her. (Even though I thinking, like others here, that it doesn’t matter who you vote for - the President is not the real power.)

The same sort of reasoning could be applied to anyone who has enthusiasm for a candidate, no? And I support this one not because of the color of her skin or her gender, but because I like her IDEAS. That, and she’s not a lawyer.
