Back to Palin’s experience, I have to ask again, how much is enough? She’s been Governor of the biggest state in the Union for two years, as opposed to Obama’s half year in the senate.
Who is really better prepared here? When did Governor get to be such crappy experience, anyway? I still say the experience angle is a loser for Obama, he’s no better off than the VP on the other side.

I tend to agree. However, the point that Alaska is sparsely populated is a good one as well. the problems faced in Alaska are unique to that state (transport difficulties, etc), and inasmuch as that is true they are good for experience.
Also the energy companies are excellent experience. However, Alaska still only has a total population a little bigger than Kansas City, MO, and smaller than the combined KC, kansas, KC, mo population.
This means that she doesn’t face the same challenges as those dealing with massive population centers (police, crime, corruption, homeless, gangs, etc). She faced different ones, which DO give her viable experience. Just not the same kind of experience.
Governor is IMO a very viable kind of experience. In fact I would tend to value it over most senate exp. The democratically esteemed Bill Clinton had about as much foreign policy experience than Palin.
Which is to say, nil, when he ran for president. He was never in the Senate, never chaired a committee on foreign policy, etc, etc. He never got smashed for inexperience on that front, even though he and Palin were in the same boat.
I believe this probably stemmed partially from the amount of time he spent as governor of Arkansas (14 years I think). You couldn’t level a “general” argument of inexperience at him, so they didn’t attack his lack of foreign policy experience.
I’m somewhat rambling here, but in my humble opinion, the “no foreign policy experience” argument is a false one because almost no governor entering a POTUS race has any of that. If, on the other hand, one wants to argue that the time she spent in office was insufficient, then perhaps you can make that argument.
However, one does have to beware the fact that this argument can be made to apply to the democratic ticket as well, with more serious repercussions.
