Sarah Palin Calls Out FightinIrish!

Back to Palin’s experience, I have to ask again, how much is enough? She’s been Governor of the biggest state in the Union for two years, as opposed to Obama’s half year in the senate.

Who is really better prepared here? When did Governor get to be such crappy experience, anyway? I still say the experience angle is a loser for Obama, he’s no better off than the VP on the other side.

I tend to agree. However, the point that Alaska is sparsely populated is a good one as well. the problems faced in Alaska are unique to that state (transport difficulties, etc), and inasmuch as that is true they are good for experience.

Also the energy companies are excellent experience. However, Alaska still only has a total population a little bigger than Kansas City, MO, and smaller than the combined KC, kansas, KC, mo population.

This means that she doesn’t face the same challenges as those dealing with massive population centers (police, crime, corruption, homeless, gangs, etc). She faced different ones, which DO give her viable experience. Just not the same kind of experience.

Governor is IMO a very viable kind of experience. In fact I would tend to value it over most senate exp. The democratically esteemed Bill Clinton had about as much foreign policy experience than Palin.

Which is to say, nil, when he ran for president. He was never in the Senate, never chaired a committee on foreign policy, etc, etc. He never got smashed for inexperience on that front, even though he and Palin were in the same boat.

I believe this probably stemmed partially from the amount of time he spent as governor of Arkansas (14 years I think). You couldn’t level a “general” argument of inexperience at him, so they didn’t attack his lack of foreign policy experience.

I’m somewhat rambling here, but in my humble opinion, the “no foreign policy experience” argument is a false one because almost no governor entering a POTUS race has any of that. If, on the other hand, one wants to argue that the time she spent in office was insufficient, then perhaps you can make that argument.

However, one does have to beware the fact that this argument can be made to apply to the democratic ticket as well, with more serious repercussions.

Yeah, Palin gained all her foreign policy knowledge by viewing Russia from her backyard.

Bahahahaha!!
I assume you implying she has not foreign policy experience. Please compair Palin McCain foreign policy experience to Obama Biden. This shouldn’t be tough for a genius like you.

Evidently, according to the liberal needle dicks just in this thread, the VP candidate needs more experience than the Presidential candidate.

Opie is not qualified to wipe his own ass - yet these sycophantic left-wing morons are creaming their collective panties over how much of a dolt Palin is in their pathetic little underdeveloped brains.

We need a revolution in this country. There are some people who are just too fucking stupid to allow them to continue breathing.

Here’s an actual transcript from a recent Palin press conference. Look at the ease in which this colossus of brains tackles tough questions from real press people:

Press: What SPECIFIC SKILLS on foreign policy will you bring to the table?

Palin: I think that because I’m a Washington outsider that opponents are going to look for a lot to criticize and try to beat the candidate here who chose me as his partner, and to kind of tear down the ticket.

As for foreign policy, I think that I am prepared, and on January 20 if we are so blessed as to be sworn into office to be your president and VP certainly I’ll be ready, I have that confidence. You can ask me anything and we can play “Stump the Candidate” if you want to, but we are ready to serve.

Press: Could you give us some DETAILS and some EXAMPLES of STRATEGIES and PLANS for economic empowerment for women?

Palin: Now, I was product of Title 9 where legislation allowed that equal opportunity, now if we have to still keep going down that road to create more legislation to get with it in the 21st century to make sure that women do have equality in the workplace, then we’re there because we understand that in this age we have all got to be working together…

I respect you so much that you are a Democrat recognizing that John McCain and me as a team of mavericks understand where you’re coming from and we can work together on these issues, but yep, equality for women, for all, that’s gonna be part of the agenda, and I thank you for that question.

LOL!! She didn’t answer the questions! She sounded like Condi Rice evading questions at the 9/11 hearings.

Oh, man… Biden’s going to shred her up in the debates!

Your strategy is laughable here. Getting candidates to describe in detail how they’ll tackle any specific problem leaves that candidate open to more and more attacks. Any issue will have two or more sides, so the interviewer will of course play devil’s advocate. Look at how the new Obama ad attacks McCain over Social Security — “John McCain wants to risk your money on the stock market! John McCain wants to cut your check in half!” (The ad really says that.)

All he wanted to do was allow the people who actually pay the goddamned money the option to put a tiny portion into an index fund!! “John McCain wants you to eat cat food!!”

And don’t get me started on how McCain can’t send an e-mail. “Ha, ha! He can’t even send an e-mail!” Because his hands were broken and tortured by North Vietnamese devils!!

I agree with Rain Jack. Far too many evil and stupid people in the country.

You guys sound like a bunch of desperate old men! The Republican ship is sinking, and their aren’t enough lifeboats.

How many excuses can you make? How long can you go on spinning? Your party accepts NO accountability for any of it’s numerous failings of the last 8 years, but you desperately hang on to the party. Once again you prove that you’ll vote your party over what’s in the best interest of the nation. And you all sound PATHETIC! McCain is a Bush replica, and Palin is your wet dream.
Dream on!

LOL!

Personally, I think that we should get a flat tax, if we have to have any income tax at all. Set it at 10% and what do you get? $3k from the $30k guys and $35k from the $350k guys.

The problem is that this would make EVERYONE a taxpayer, instead of a few people paying taxes and a LOT of people receiving gov’t assistance. If we all had to pay taxes, it would mean we would ALL pay attention to where that money is going.

On top of that, the gov’t would have to make do with what we SAID they could have, the way it should have been all along.

Right on the money.
Except that we need money, although god knows much of it is spent in piss poor ways and sent down the shitter. And there would be no flat tax rate that would bring in the needed revenue without still being an unfair and undue burden on those in lower income categories.

Are you the pot, or the kettle? You are one of the biggest brain-dead left-wing sycophants on this board. Never do you use anything but vitriolic left-wing talking points. Just a little originality from you would stop your hypocrisy. But you can’t say anything about the right that has not been handed to you.

I don’t expect anything more than that from you other than you take a look at yourself before putting on your self-righteous judge’s robe.

There is a whole lot of good skin going to waste.

Our party?

I suppose somebody would have to be conscious to notice, but I have seen not one enthusiastic Republican in any of these threads. What I have seen are conservatives who think both parties blow, but a thoroughgoing marxist abomination like Obama is not an option.

The fact that there are more than 7 people in North America who think an Obama/Biden administration could be good for ANY country does not bode well for our future.

Iron Dwarf-

Party affiliations aside, please tell us what is exceptional about Barack Obama in terms of what he’ll bring to the Presidency.

In other words, why are you voting FOR Obama, and not just AGAINST evil Republicans or just because he’s a Democrat and you’re (presumably) a Democrat.

“Hope” and “Change” are not acceptable answers.

Biden has been wrong about almost every major foreign policy in my lifetime from the cold war to the surge. Why would anyone think this is an advatage for him?
