The other night I met the big guy. The head honcho. The big kahuna. The man that needs no introduction. …Mod Burtreynolds. Nah, kidding. Wednesday night I had the pleasure to be treated to the best sushi I’ve ever had, by TC and his wife. (Note: I’m sure mod burtreynolds is pretty cool, too.)
I don’t even know where to begin. These two are seriously two of the coolest, nicest, and down to earth people I’ve ever met. My friend Liz, the girl I’m staying with, agrees.
I’ve been linking Liz to Atomic Dog each week basically since I met her this past summer, and loves it almost as much as the rest of us. Even so, she was a bit nervous to meet them. Even though she stayed relatively quiet, she couldn’t help but laugh everytime TC make a remark. At one point he was telling a story that was so funny, I spilled my drink on my shirt. Funny shit.
We showed up a couple of minutes late (sorry, you two… but we’re both idiots who cant navigate places without a grid street system), and saw no TC or his wife around. So we sat down on the waiting bench for them, only for a waiter to come up to us, sent over by TC, who had already been seated, and ask if we had been waiting for TC and Laurie. I thought that was relatively funny. In our defense, Liz’s and my height averaged amounts to about a whopping 5’4 and we ultimately were seated on an upper level, in the corner.
Once we were seated, we exchanged hello’s, pleasantries, and bodily fluids’ errrr what? Who said that? Ha, I kid, I kid. Our [hot] waitress came over, and we decided to leave it up to TC to order for us. He managed a few rolls, one of which surrounded a slice of lime with a flame coming from it.

“Whats in this one?”
“I don’t know. I forgot, but its good.”[/quote]
He sure as shit wasn’t kidding.
Conversation ranged from a bunch of marines getting kicked out of a 5 star hotel in Australia, our dogs, squats, X-vest swat team misunderstandings, to waitresses with skirts so short their asses hung out. Normal dinner conversation, ya know.
The night ended, two or so hours later, with TC and Laurie both insisting to cover the bill as well as the tip. (I told you they were exceedingly generous.) We all walked back to Liz’s mighty steed of a 270k mile pickup truck, for TC to sign my copy of Atomic Dog, after which we said goodbye, and was even extended an invitation to come move to Southern California!
So, again. Thank you very much to Laurie and TC for an awesome dinner, and an even more awesome night. Glad to meet you two, and hopefully I’ll be back.
