I just don’t understand this then…What is the point of making a thread about being in Thailand if you’re not going to indulge in any of the sinful activity?
Then this is just a blog about being at school… in thailand.
???
I don’t get it.
LOL watch out, his daisy chain band of internet supporters are going to attack you. Apparently, debauchery and fun in a foreign land to these testosterone challenged lads involves PAYING for sex. I didn’t know play time and pay for play were linked so strongly in their minds. Weak game.
Apparently every eligible woman in the entire town and surrounding areas is a prostitute…but we know better right?

The past few days I’ve been working with the course director doing speciality courses. Today, we had planned to do wreck spec dives one and two.
The plan, in the morning we were told was “I (the course director) have to teach two tech dives today, so I’m going to do one in the morning, while you guys dive the hardeep, then we’ll have lunch, then we’ll do the wreck spec dive, then I’ll do another tech dive.”
Fair enough.
I went down with two buddies, one of which I was doing the wreck spec dive with. We spent 40 minutes averaging about 24 meters, which puts us extremely close to our no decompression limits. Upon surfacing, we hear Roger say “alright, switch tanks and have a quick lunch and then we’re getting back in.” Keep in mind, the wreck sits at about 20 meters.
Right, so we have lunch, have about a half an hour surface interval (not long) and then it was his brilliant idea to, instead of pulling ourselves down the line against the current, which is now RIPPING, do drop in upcurrent and drift along the bottom until we hit it.
What if we miss the wreck?
We wont.
So, we drop in severely overweighted and descend to 28 meters in about 45 seconds and we’re booking it along the bottom for about a minute or two, and realize we missed the fucking wreck.
He pulls out a slate and writes “DEEP 1 and 2.” Well, fuck, we haven’t got any of the things we needed to do so. At this point, we’re on the bottom digging out slates, hands, and constantly finning and still being pulled along the bottom, our computers are reading 0 minutes no deco time left, so we ascend.
Turns out, there were upswells and downswells, as well. Keep in mind, there are four instructors, one of which who’s a course director who’s also a tech diver who can hold a perfect hover for God know’s how long. We ascended at some points way too fast, and some points ended up shooting back down, and our safety stop at 5m for three minutes was absolutely miserable.
When the other groups came back from their drift dive, plenty of them were saying that the downswells were so bad that they had their BCD’s fully inflated and finning like mad and just barely coming up, until they hit about 10m, at which point they started to shoot up and ended up with an empty BCD and finning down to stay from the surface. Quite a few said their computers put deco obligations on because of the botched ascents and some couldnt even do the deco stops because they just couldnt stay at one level.
In 20/20 hindsight, a few of us could have been breathing oxygen to be safe, but none of us did.
I’m sure you’ll hear about it tommorow if anyone ends up bent. Hopefully we wont.

One of the many reasons I’m scared of diving.

Meh, something like this is absurdly rare. Pattaya’s just a shitty place to dive.
I’m sure there are plenty more reasons to go diving than to not go diving.
Am I gonna have to call you out to get you in the water, momma?

Sunset in Samesan.

A few interns…

One of the interns, free diving.

Refracted…
Nice pics man, sounds like you’re having a blast out there.
It may just be me, but that whole wreck incident sounds like fun, I love dives like that for some insane reason.

super gay…

Songkran, the Thai new year, was the 19th. The week before, is a one week water festival where everyone in town is soaked with water and baby powder by everyone else in town.
The last day, the interns arranged to have our “Assault on soi 6.” So, after the boat, we all kept our wetsuits on and jumped on our baht bus armed with water baloons and water pistols and drove down a street lined with hookers.
Hilarity at its finest.
