Ryan 5/3/1 & Bulk Log

UPDATE: So i’m on to week 9 of the mt dog arm workout, I have to say that the arm workout is awesome. I haven’t gained any size on my arm, but it does look fuller. My measurements fluctuate from 17 1/4-16 1/2 depending on wt but my arm has never looked fuller since doing this workout. Ill continue with in for a couple more cycles.

Besides that today was a weak day, was doing bench and just wasn’t feeling it. Everything felt heavy so just got in and did what I needed to do for bench then did some KB swings. I really love these for cardio, I do 2-4 sets of 15 on 45lbs and usually 4-6 sets of 10 on 60lbs do all that in 10-15 mins and i am winded. The upside is the next day I really feel it in my glutes and hamstrings so I think ill stick to doing them a couple times a week.

Weight is staying around 210-214

do you have any pics? you’ve been runnig this log forever but i dont see any pics anywhere. would be really interested in seeing some before current and in betweens photos. so i can match up your workouts with the results your getting. just reading your weight from time to time doesnt do a whole lot since i dont know if your just holding water or put on some fat or just gained lbm. much appericated thanks

I do have pics from the day I started the log, I am planning on doing updated pics in a couple weeks. Basically I want to get down to 200-205 then take pics. I wish that I took pics when I was up at 225-230, but forgot about that.

nothing major over the past few days

today was a solid session

deads 315x3, 365x3, 415x1, 435x2x1, 365x2x6, 315x10
romans 225x3x5
bb rows 135x10, 185x8, 205x6
good mornings 95x3x8- still not feeling them, not sure if i am not doing them right/too light etc
db rows 100x10,10,6- weight was easy, but left hand just couldnt grip the weight

so if your 210 to 212 right now and where 225 to 230, what did you look like then. meaning were the 20 pounds you lost all fat? 50/50 mix? and do you think you look better now or then

I think a good amount of it was fat, gut/waist got noticeably smaller.

Though since the wt loss my dead/squat has gone down. Arms got stronger, but a little smaller.

update from last few days, dropping carbs weight seems to be stationary at 210

workouts have been a lot different than what I am used to, today was back/bi with a ton of volume. I think we did 20-23 sets of back w/ another 12-15 sets for biceps already sore in the lats.

today was cardio only, just getting back into doing that cardio stuff so it was pretty hard.

tomorrow is legs

deads 315x5, 365x3, 415x3, 435x1, 365x5, 315x5
romans 225x5, 245x5, 275x2x5
front squats- randomness
leg curls/ext- some x some
calf raises

update over the past 10-12 days have been some pretty decent workouts. I raised both volume/reps and lowered wt on my workouts and pretty much every single workout has kicked my ass. Though i am still struggling on deads, i am starting to think my form is out of whack because all my lifts are same or going up, but that is going down. I weighed in at 209 today so that was good, stomach is getting a little tighter. I still do believe that I need to drop another 10-15 lbs before anything starts looking good.

no serious updates, chest today.

over the past 10 days, wt staying around 208-212 defiantly looking leaner. Strength hasn’t gone down much if at all. Yesterday did an unplanned refeed. I went to an all out can eat Chinese Buffet had 3 plates of beef/pork/chicken another 2 of chow mein/rice then topped it off with 3 bowls of ice cream. Good day, felt good getting all that in I had more endurance today lifting.

last 12 days, I fell off the diet bandwagon. Last few days i’ve been back with it and got the weight back to a 210-212 range. Lifts have still been good, energy has been fine.

did a short chest workout last night

hs decline 90x12, 180x12, 230x10, 280x8, 180x10
hs flat 90x8, 110x8, 130x8, 150x8
hs incline 90x15, 110x15, 130x12, 150x8, 90x15
cable flies 25x15, 35x12, 45x10, 25x15, 15x20

done in about 25 mins

yesterday was back, I don’t remember much of what happened. Today was legs, tried some deadlifts for the first time in 2 months or so and it didn’t go too well. Everything felt heavy. I took about 30 minutes to get warmed up, but once I did it go a lot better… Still though my leg day pretty shitty, but better luck tomorrow.

still maintaining wt around 209-212. Clothes are fitting differently lately ive been adding in about 10-15 minutes of stair climber post workout.

Also ive added 10 grams of fish oil a day

update:

spent the last 3 days in Vegas doing some recon for my buddies bachelor party in the next few months. It was good, a little cold for my taste i think the high was 72 whereas tucson has been in the 90s for the past 3 weeks. Only had enough time to lift in the casino gym once for about 20 mins, besides that we were eating and drinking copious amounts of stuff. Currently I am weighing in around 214, I think the reason I didnt go up a lot in weight is because we were walking about 4-5 miles a day.

nothing really new going on, been doing the same old bullshit. I wrote up a new routine starting tomorrow morning and hopefully ill be sticking to it.

Besides that weight has been hovering around 210-213 in the morning and 215-217 at night.

I know I have said this before, but I plan on posting pics in a couple days and start a serious recomp. I have too much fluff and need to work on that.
