It’s not crazy when I think about it at all. I’m surprised you weren’t roommates. =]
â??Itâ??s a return to the old days, but even in the worst years of the cold war, I think there were no more than 10 illegals in the U.S., probably fewer.â??

Really? 10?
I caught that too and just figured I had missed somewhere what “illegals” actually meant in the context.
Well obviously it’s specifically spies…but only 10? Who do they think they’re joking?
Actually, the more I think about it, the more I wonder why the arrests were made.
We knew of their existence, which doesn’t entirely neutralize the threat, but definitely eases it. As far as we know, they didn’t hand over any classified information. We don’t have enough evidence to charge them with Conspiracy to commit Espionage… The only thing I can think of is to either send a message to the Kremlin (which doesn’t seem like Obama’s MO… especially not when he regrets the timing thereof) or that they were about to recieve classified information. But from who?
Either that or the agents really were about to leave the country into retirement in whatever passes for a retirement community in Russia (Greece?) and the FBI just wanted to give a big ‘F U’ to them.

Medvedev, said one administration official. Mr. Obama was not happy about the timing, but investigators feared some of their targets might flee, the official said.”
So “Bam wasn’t happy,” huh? Poor Bam.
This worried me. As much as I would love to believe we don’t actually have Russian moles in our country, I hope we never sacrifice national security because it was “bad timing” after a presidential meet and greet.
No no no, that’s not how things are going to work in Obama’s America. We have to be extra special careful to make sure that the Ruskies don’t get mad at us when we catch them spying.
And I know you all hate Obama and Russia and think that he should just move there so we can hate them all in one place, but really, international relations are fragile things, and I can understand why the timing might not be perfect.
Imagine if they arrested a spy ring right as their leader was visiting us. And if you think that we don’t have the same shit going on over there, you’re a fool.
I don’t think the timing was arbitrary. They made sure it did not happen while the Russian President was here.

Not unless the FBI thought that Obama told Medvedev that their spies were being watched. Maybe this is why the FBI had to arrest them now. They were about to leave.
In Soviet Russia, spy finds you!
and as for you teabagging republican fucktards using this less than relevant story to go after Obama’s administration, reread the story. how long were these operatives here again? Fucking Idiots. Yes PushHarder I am addressing you among others.
Also you are retarded if you think we do not have assets in Russia, etc. Morons. You have what backround which is relevant to this again? Go cry about illegal immigrants somewhere you whitebread fuck for brains
^ was any going after the Obama Administration on this story line? I thought we were jsut talking about spies in general . . . sheeesh, overreact much?
Is crumwell really that stupid? Wow I cant believe he or she is allowed to vote. Its a damn shame when an uneducated vote wipes out the vote of a smart man or woman.
