Short answer, no. And they notified Russia that Joe will be landing. Not asking for permission, notifying.

BTW, the same procedure was used in Yugoslavia in 1999 when then-PM of Russia Chernomyrdin and Lukashenko landed their planes during NATO bombing.

In terms of Russian activity over Kyiv, due to their shortage of missiles they tend to launch Iranian Shahed drones and a plethora of missiles (Kalibr, S-300
) every two weeks when they amass sufficient stockpiles, and do small air defense probing attack every one to two days.

So to cut the long story short, per official source Kyiv city | Air Raid Alert Map of Ukraine :ukraine: (alerts.in.ua) there were no changes (and especially not drops) in Russian military activity before, during or after Joe’s visit - it was terror as usual.

Yeah, a guy (Russian deputy DoD in charge of missile forces) who sent his heavily pregnant daughter to Miami to give birth and create an US anchor baby for the entire family is not going to give an order to shoot Biden’s plane.

Most of the cronies around Putin have children and grandchildren who are US/UK citizens, so I personally think every threat they make is simply a very bad bluff.

For example, this obviously traditionally minded man (Kirkorov) was at the Grammys in LA this month. When he’s not trying to mingle among the woke glitterati in LA or NY, he’s denouncing, among other things, “depraved American pro-LGBT propaganda aimed at destroying the traditional family” and demanding the Army to nuke Washington and the White House on Russian State TV.
