Russian Military Buildup Outside Ukraine

Fifth graders would probably get some of it right, out of random decisions. Biden is deliberately making the worst case choice every time and on purpose.

But to clarify, I was speaking Ukraine turning off the gas lines. Better have some Cossack fighting spirit left, since Russia would surely mount full invasion.

Eh, maybe, maybe not. Putin is a massive shit tester, and I’m sure has been gaging response at every move.

And just having the ability to shut gas supply off creates a huge lever of power, billions of dollars in revenue, and a return to the old ways of doing business (pure corruption & coercion).

All he has to do is kill everybody and take all of their shit. Its the oldest trick in the book.

I wasn’t clear.
I’m talking Ukraine shutting the pipelines, not Russia.

That would affect his end users right away.

They’d alienate their allies.

Ukraine: “Help us or we hurt you.”.

EU: “Next!..Hey Vladimir, old buddy, lets talk!”.

Why would he? The Patriarch is a former KGB agent (currently a FSB one) who’s running the Russian Orthodox Church like a bizarre military religion for the sole purpose of providing spiritual comfort for the armed forces (Main Cathedral of the Russian Army below)

Mosques no. Putin instituted a massive mosque building program in Russia to ingratiate his regime with the Caucasians (a blanket term encompassing ethnic groups in the Caucusus, not the US meaning)

Pandering to Muslims also means that Moscow is paralyzed during Eid celebrations (below), that parts of the country are under literal Sharia Law and that Kadyrov and his coterie are allowing themselves to police “anti-islamic” behavior among non-Muslim peoples, which doesn’t sit well with ethnic Russians in southern Russia. Khabib famously used his influence to forbid a theater play in a city with 15% Muslims because the female lead sat on a bed with the male lead in one of the acts.

You’ll go to jail in Russia for being a Jehova’s Witness, though.

You can’t keep a private handgun in your house in Russia, it has to be stored at a shooting club. Where do you get your Russia information from, because it is not correct.

Well, some other countries did provide guarantees as well, so

No, it’s pretty much regular Russian army with different shoulder patches. One of the more bizarre episodes was the tank battle of Debaltseve where Western TV crews interviewed “local pro-Russian rebels” with Central Asian features who weren’t exactly sure where they were.

That’s why Putin built the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which Germany and Creepy Joe are now preventing from being certified. As soon as it was completed, Ukraine lost it’s only protection.

They are just trying to be like Canada.

I know what you meant. I just jumped at the opportunity to yell America from the mountain tops.

Damn, if only I could live in a log cabin with 5 miles of wilderness separating my family from the next. Question authority, sure. A skeptic am I.

Individualism coupled with a moral compass, usually routed in christianity but not exclusively, is what we need more of, not less. It’s the difference between personal responsibility and force.

Agreed. Why are we going to fight for other people’s freedom when we can’t secure out own?

We’ve already got it, bro. “The land of the free.” Do you think a non-free people would have those words in their national anthem?

Ahem

Russia is our sacred state,
Russia is our beloved land.
The powerful strength and the great glory
Are your properties for all the time.

Long live our Fatherland, land of the free,
The eternal union of brothers nations,
Given by ancestors the people’s wisdom!
Long live our land! We are proud of you!

Edit: Watched Russian State TV for half an hour which is the maximum I can take in a single sitting. Threats of genocide against Ukrainians and subtitled clips from Tucker Carson and Tulsi for the most part.

Oh wait, they’re now talking about putting nukes on Cuba (apparently, Russia signed a new treaty with Cuba a couple of days ago with secret provisions) and begging GOP for a Tucker/Tulsi ticket in 2024.

Weird

I mean, what government is going to tell it’s people they aren’t free?
No matter how oppressed, the govt will always try to convince it’s people they are free

That might be the second time I’ll vote since eligible in 1997.

Tulsi all the way

Tucker no way

Why would Tucker run? He’d lose influence. I reckon he’s doing just fine where he is. So I wouldn’t worry about such a ticket. I wish the dems had the sense to have put Tulsi in. She would have been so much better. I could respect her. I don’t like all her positions but at least she’s not a maniac, nor senile, doesn’t need amphetamines to face the public, can speak in complete sentences and pretty bangable to boot. I wouldn’t mind entering her oval office.

This whole shit is a pipe line war and Putin robbing weak Biden out of his resources and influence in Ukraine. This is why Europe does not care. The only losers here are Biden and Germany. Ukrainians no matter how mad they can be, they do not deserve shit and deserve part of Ukraine to be taken from them. And I hate and dislike Putin. But rest assured Europe is winning with the current outcome.

Why is that? (Serious question.) I mean, is there something they’ve done that deserves some comeuppance, collectively speaking? I am trying to catch up on all this and my time is limited to find out all this background.

I admit I’m following this to a degree only because it’s interesting. None of us, can do a darn thing about whether the US gets involved or not.

Not now. November 2020 was everyone’s opportunity.

Welp, the invasion has begun.

I wasn’t talking about handguns

I was talking about A firearm

Getting a shotgun (depending on type) in Russia is arguably easier than it is in Aus.
