Huh? My estimate is closer to 7 Ukrainian deaths vs 1 trillion-billion Russian deaths.
"## Russian infighting over Ukraine dead
Newly discovered documents suggest Russian officials are at loggerheads over the reporting of casualties.
The main intelligence agency, the FSB, has “accused” the country’s defence ministry of playing down the human impact of the war, the files show.
These findings show the extent to which the US agencies have penetrated the Russian intelligence and military."
“Casualty figures are also listed. One slide refers to as many as 223,000 Russian soldiers killed or wounded, and as many as 131,000 Ukrainians.” (from February?, article not clear)
Not true -I watched Top Gun: Maverick, and Tom Cruise surpassed mach 10.
Because Christmas will be here before you know it, and because you(or, in some cases, your wife and/or friends) know someone that needs it:
You mean to tell me, that the Ukrainians are losing and have been this whole time and the media lied about it and played up propaganda videos?! II am truly shocked, the nerve. Who would have ever though our beloved media apparatus has been lying the whole time? hmmm, can I even trust them anymore??
Interesting stuff, are you in the region? How are you coming about this info?
I looked and the article and it fails to say who is mocking Putin. Sounds like a really big failure, he cancelled an event. Sounds like Russia is getting absolutely demolished. I like how people project. The article says nothing about why the events were canceled but it did not stop some idiot from saying something like this:
“Nothing says you’re a grand strategist quite like not having enough soldiers & equipment to hold an annual parade,” tweeted Mark Hertling, former commanding general of U.S. Army Europe."
This guy was a commanding general in the U.S. Army and he says stupid shit like this. Go ahead and under estimate Russia and their military at your own peril. I for one have tremendous respect for Russia’s military might. I am not about to think an engagement with them will be a cake walk. It will be a blood bath.
In a geopolitical vacuum it would be a cake walk, especially in terrain like the Ukraine. Air superiority wouldn’t be quite as easy as it was in Iraq, but NATO would definitely achieve it.
At that point it is combined arms mechanized warfare that renders trenches useless. 1000:1 casualties or a similar ballpark. IMO that sort of lopsided outcome is what would make nukes much more likely.
As it stands this is an unprecedented war that combines elements from literally the last 100 years. There are actual WWI Maxim guns being deployed and it makes sense because it’s trench warfare all over again and those things can mow down infantry just as well as they could in 1918.
You also have tanks designed right after WWII being used along with state-of-the art HIMARS systems and the weaponization of drones that anyone can buy off of Amazon for pretty cheap.
NATO air superiority and professional soldiers would roll up the Russian army and smoke 'em, just like we did to an overrated army using much of the same equipment during the first Iraq war.
Wars aren’t fought on paper. The Taliban beat the U.S. and took billions of dollars in booty and we technically have the power to wipe the country completely off the map.
So, I am not a fan of paper wars. War’s aren’t even fought on battle fields anymore. They don’t go to far off places to fight, they head for the financial centers, which are hugely populated.
Given NATO’s recent track record, I don’t think they have the power to protect us. You can have the best shit in the world, but if you have an idiot in charge then the equipment is no good.
We have a Chief Admiral that cross-dresses, in public, in the uniform. Yeah, we’re screwed for the time being…
Different war, different mission and different terrain.
Russia has always been bad at war and they always will be. All of those ideological bricks from the Soviet Union are still being carried around by the Russian army, now with more corruption and bad leadership than ever.
Our Navy’s Army’s Air Force could probably achieve air superiority against the Russians.
That still leaves us with the Navy’s Air Force and the actual Air Force with all of the really good stuff like F-22’s.
I don’t think there is any debate on the US Military’s ability to steamroll just about anyone, IF you take the leash off and let them just win and destroy.
But, with political bullshit - this never happens.
Napoléon and Hitler found them a bit tougher than they expected. Yeah, sure they lost to Japan, but that was under Nicholas, who while smarter, kinder and more humane than biden, was no leader.
The U.S. hasn’t been great at war either lately. We lost to the Taliban, let that humiliation sink in. With the exception of the First Gulf war, we lost ever war since WW2. Korea - L, Vietnam -L, Grenada-W, 1st Gulf War - W, 2nd Gulf War - L, Afghanistan War- massive L.
Does Grenada even count as a war? Look at our leadership in the military. You got a commanding general secretly coordinating with China, in a back channel, specifically to undermine a sitting president. You have a cross-dressing Admiral, who the hell knows what freakshows they got in the Army and Marines. As far as our fighting forces are concerned, look what these geniuses did the first 6 weeks after biden took office? They “purged” the military ranks of “wrong think”. I.E. if you liked Trump or you showed your republican side too much they got rid of you. Between the vaccine mandates and the ideological purge, I am sure there are still some smart, grounded, right thinking people there, but far fewer than there were in 2019.
I am not trying to cheer for a side here, I am just calling it like I see it. The US is not ready for war. We can get ready quickly, but that’s relative to the speed of the situation. We have absolute buffoons in charge of a military whose ranks have been ideologically purged. No, I cannot say I have a lot of confidence. Hey we have a bunch of F35’s but what idiotic orders will those pilots be given? Spread propaganda leaflets inviting everybody to the kiddie drag show in Minsk? ‘Hear its going to be a ball, all the finest people will be there! Meet Vlad himself and see his new act, pretending to need even more money.’
Ability, yes. Will to win? No.
I don’t disagree with you on just about all your points lol.
Napoleon the artillery officer didn’t have adequate logistics to support the army he fielded to invade Russia. Any marginally capable army on the planet would have defeated him after marching through Russia with dwindling supplies. But I agree, with what I know of Russian history this might be their military high point.
The Red Army would have folded during Barbarossa if not for US logistical support. Especially all those trucks. Even Khrushchev admitted this publicly.
I agree with you here.
Nope, it was a crude photoshop once the papers started doing the rounds on Russian telegram, per the “original” leaks it’s Russia 35-43k KIA 154-180 WIA and Ukraine 15-17k KIA 109-113k WIA.
I understand that the actual Russian losses are greater because using ole’ Soviet accounting they tend to sweep under the carpet mobiks forcibly assigned to the “republics”
Yes, at the May Day parade is absolutely crucial to Putin’s empire building myth. The centerpiece of the parade are traditionally the VDV and it seems that most of them are either KIA or WIA.
Senile Biden ordered artillery to be fired at civilians resulting in thousands of deaths in Washington? Because that’s what Nicholas II did in St. Petersburg in 1905.
Actually, the “weirdness” of the Napoleon’s Russia campaigns stems from the fact that Napoleon wanted to bring Alexander to the negotiating table. He was fighting his alleged buddy with whom he got along just a few years earlier and wanted to teach him a quick lesson about breaking the sanctions regime against the British (the so-called continental blockade). He expected a quick battle just across the Russian border and Alexander coming to his senses. Things escalated from there.
I live in less than 500 km from the south Ukrainian border. South Ukraine is mainly populated by Besarabian Bulgarians and I am Bulgarian. Additionally refuges. Additionally telegram and local news. Additionally I know how Russian propaganda/disinformation works.
Let me tell you. Russia is the 2nd strongest army in Ukraine. They are so bad that Ukraine without any military support stopped their advance and pushed them out of Kiev and Kharkov. Russia had to dig trenches and return to world war 1 tactics to hold position. Their advance in the last 6 months is 5km in Bahmut, while losing Kherson and Kharkov region.
If you are getting your news from right wing news sources, trust me they are poisoned by Russian propaganda. I have been following a lot of US sources and you have no clue about incompetence and propaganda in these sources.
If you want a somehow sarcastic overview of the situation I cant recommend more TVP World on youtube. Its a Polish media with English speakers. They post a lot of the things available on telegram.
Russia and their army has become the laughing stock here in Europe. Every single country is trying to isolate any trade or diplomacy with them.
This is insane. The leadership is amazing. I believe this was a NATO trained unit specialized in trench battles and these units are the reason Bakhmut does not fall.
