Tate thread makes more sense
Hey @punnyguy IIRC you were asking for combat footage a year back, this is one of the more remarkable ones on Youtube (the gruesome stuff is mostly confined to Telegram)
A single Ukrainian conscript taking out multiple GRU Spetsnaz operators (around the minute mark), arguably the best Russia has.
He gets around pretty well despite the giant balls undoubtedly obstructing his every move.
That dude is in the zone!
From what Iāve seen the drone/artillery combo is pretty devastating too. Bunches of russians are hunkered down in trenches, drone sends coordinates, artillery rains hell.
Trenches all clear.
I havenāt been seeking this kind of footage out but IMO it is good for any reasonable adult to take it in.
Same as all wars.
Here we are over 100 years later and Europeans are still trench-fighting in the middle of an artillery-bombarded wasteland.
This turned out to be fairly accurate
I donāt know everything about everything that happens in the world, so I have to ask: How did you identify the guy that was shot as Spetsnaz?
I didnāt. What I did was watch the aftermath video on Telegram (extremely graphic) where the headcam guy is going through the idās and stuff of the Russians he took out where he identifies them as 14th GRU Spetsnaz brigade.
To be fair, one of the more esteemed ex-USMC analysts called it immediately when the video was released.
From article:
In response, Zaluzhnyi says Ukrainian forces destroyed 34 out of 54 cruise missiles (63%), all eight of the air-launched guided missiles (100%), and four drones (50%).
In particular the S-300 missiles look like an act of desperation. The S-300 is designed as a mobile surface-to-air missile system, capable of intercepting aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, with a secondary capability against ground targets. Normally it is radar guided, but the ground-based radar cannot illuminate a distant target also on the ground, so it relies on inertial guidance and is unlikely to give high accuracy. The warhead is only 150 kilos ā about a third as much as an X-101 ā so will do comparatively little damage.
Again from article: the missiles used this time, and Ukraineās mixed success in shooting them down, has led to renewed pleas for better air defenses
Some anti-war proponents here in the US might say that this is just another āployā to grift more defense dollars and goodies from the US.

Both sides think they can āwinā.
Both sides need to see the light and try for a resolution of some sort.
No idea how this might be accomplished, which is why Iām only posting on an interwebz forum, on a site for meatheads.
S-300 are old anti-aircraft Soviet missiles used as a terror weapon against civilians, much akin to the Nazi V-1 use in WW2.
Unlike the other missiles, the Russians have a large stockpile of them (over 10k) and are launching them without targeting at urban centers close to the frontline or Russia proper. The S-300s biggest āsuccessā is usually catching civilians out in the open (at markets, bus stops or railway stations) or destroying an occasional apartment with an entire family in them (like in Zaporozhye or Kharkiv).
About the āunstoppableā Kinzhal wonder weapon (comparison to V-2 comes to mind) - it speaks volumes that theyāre repurposing a component of the Nuclear Triad to carry a conventional warhead. Even if they manage to produce them in large numbers, which I doubt because I had the misfortune to work with Russian engineers and am familiar with their efficiency, it will āonlyā result in a few thousand dead Ukrainian civilians and glee on Russian Telegram channels.
Honestly, I do not understand the logic, supposedly profiting from civilian deaths⦠and getting military hardware that will be immediately put to use?
My personal experience from Ukraine is that itās a total mobilization of a people facing the threat of biological extinction (Putinās promise of a āfinal solution of the Ukrainian questionā) and all things considered theyāre doing a remarkable job of pooling private and state resources, with any potential financial benefits being sidelined. Again, thatās my personal experience.
Wiki article makes claims of Mach 12ā¦
Likely bullshit
From my own knowledge of aerodynamics and a little bit about hypersonic is this claim is likely highly exaggerated or only applies at extremely high altitude (where the air is thinner and the speed of sound drops making it easier to hit a higher Mach number).
Looking at the size of that missile compared to the size of the Mig carrying it in the Wiki article - I would guess more around Mach 6-7
For a frame of reference the space shuttle re enters the atmosphere at around Mach 25
@jcpjcp i am sure you are as knowledgeable about these weapons as you are the propaganda you are being asked to repeat.
This proves you donāt know shit. Either about how these work or what the US does/doesnāt have. I have worked in the aerospace defense industry for over a decade. I can assure you the US is better armed than Russia.
They are nuclear capable and have been for 75 years. This was always the case.
Youāre a fucking clown if you actually believe this.
Next youāre going to tell me the Mig is superior to the F-22 and the AK-74 is a superior weapon to any other infantry rifle.
Because these systems are in their infancy (nobody has large scale functioning ones). There are directed energy intercept systems being developed.
Offensive weapons have always outpaced defensive ones.
The general public has no idea what kinds of things military contractors work on in closed spaces.
Also, if itās common knowledge that Russia you should easily be able to post reliable sources of this information. I mean, I saw a couple articles that said Putin claimed to be the world leader in missiles but what else is he going to say?
Russias supposedly superior tanks have been decimated to half of the pre war numbers.
They are reaching back into 50 year old Cold War era tanks now.
Why would I believe any other aspect of their military is any better?
Hypersonic missiles donāt operate in a vacuum āeliminating air frictionā as you claim. I could teach you but this involves complex compressible aerodynamics your puny brain canāt comprehend.
Iād like to hear more specifics on how the energy is stored to create a plasma column as youāve described.
Then Iād like to hear about the plasma column.
Like, why doesnāt it vaporize the missile?
Not if you believe there is no air friction on a hypersonic missile.
Your idiocy and desire for Russia to wipe out a whole population is apparent.
And seriously you have disparaged people who have long had a much better reputation than you on here while touting Russian propaganda. And your āsourcesā are all bunk. Why would I believe a thing you say.
You donāt want to āflexā and then literally claimed you know more than me about aerodynamics - so fucking prove it.
You are rooting for the guy who said he wants to āsave Ukraine from gay marriageāā¦
