Russia Won't Go Away

Harding was corrupt, but he didn’t enter the White House as an incompetent. Far from it, he had a (moderately) distinguished public career prior to his election, and I think we can credibly assume he had at least read the Constitution. No, Harding’s terribleness emanated not from incompetence, but from his corruption and involvement in seedy scandals - bribery, and so forth, not ineptitude.

And even if we take the poor man’s admission that he didn’t think he had the horsepower for the job, ok - that still doesn’t serve as evidence he was worse the Trump or even that he was incompetent. Hell, it cuts the other way - unlike Trump, he was willing to admit he had certain limitations, and as a result, avoided the kinds of unforced errors plaguing Trump, the clueless braggart.

US intelligence?

They didn’t even know the Soviet Union was going to collapse when it happened let alone all the Iraq stuff.

So rather than US intelligence agencies, you elect to put your faith in…?

Of course Zeb can.

This is the key. Plenty of Presidents mishandle situations or crises. That’s bad. Trump invents new situations and crises that weren’t there before through dumb decisions. That’s worse. At this point in his presidency, he specializes in unforced errors, which will only make it harder to get his agenda done (assuming he actually has an agenda). I can’t think of a single President in history who actually created this many needless crises on their watch.

Might be hard to explain to a leftist but you don’t put your faith in government.

Try. But type slowly so I can keep up.

Nah it will take this discussion way off topic

So they ran a proxy war against the USSR in Afghanistan to sap resources and catalyze the collapse of the USSR, but couldn’t see the collapse coming?

Is that what you’re saying?

Cuz thats what it looks like you’re saying.

Oh so you deny that the story was launched based on anonymous sources? And that the only other person in the room other than Trump and the Russian disagreed with the story?

Oh that’s right he’s a partisan hack because he put Hillary’s feet to the fire. Wahaha I loved it.

But by his own admission he did. But why would you accept his own quote right?

Got it.

We’re done.

Edit:

Yes Harding was corrupt, yes he was lazy, yes he appointed all his friends from Ohio to high level cabinet positions…And yes he was the most incompetent man to ever become President.

I want to add a few more quotes from Warren Harding the most incompetent man to ever become US President.

“I am not fit for this office and should never have been here.”

“I knew that this job would be too much for me.”

“I don’t know what to do or where to turn in this taxation matter. Somewhere there must be a book that tells all about it, where I could go to straighten it out in my mind. But I don’t know where the book is, and maybe I couldn’t read it if I found it.”

“I don’t know much about Americanism, but it’s a damn good word with which to carry an election.”

“Let the black man vote when he is fit to vote; prohibit the white man voting when he is unfit to vote.”

“I couldn’t catch a ball or any of that stuff. I could do only what required brute stupidity.”

“My once-keen analytical mind has become so dulled by endless hours of baking in the hot sun, thrashing about in tight chimneys, pulling at impossibly heavy loads, freezing my ass off… so that now my mental state is comparable to that of a Peruvian Indian, well stoked on coca leaves…”

“He liked to play chess and do intelligent things, and I was a serious drinker and nonthinker.”

I already did and your hero chose to ignore it. He likes to play Internet message board games.

No, I deny your implication that the story was motivated by Bezos’ animosity toward Trump, which was the point of the comment of yours to which I was responding. (Feel free to look back upon it and you’ll find it contains nary a peep about anonymous sources, others in the room, etc.)

"The disclosure that Israel was the source of the intelligence adds a layer of complication to Mr. Trump’s sharing of the information with the Russians. Israel is among the U.S.’s closest allies in the Middle East. The two nations’ intelligence services work closely on counterterrorism operations in the region and routinely share information with each other.

But the information that Israel provided in this case was considered so sensitive that it wasn’t shared even with the closest U.S. allies, known as the “Five Eyes,” a group of countries that includes the U.K. and Canada, the officials said…

U.S. officials with direct knowledge of the Israeli source said Mr. Trump might not have provided enough detail to the Russians to damage that source. However, they stressed that by openly sharing such classified information with a U.S. adversary, when even American allies aren’t privy to it, could create an impression that the U.S. can’t be trusted with other countries’ secrets.

In its articles Monday on the subject, The Wall Street Journal refrained from identifying Israel as the source of the intelligence. Trump administration officials said disclosing it could damage the two countries’ intelligence relationship and jeopardize operations. The Journal decided to name Israel once the country’s name was widely disseminated after reports by the New York Times and others Tuesday afternoon."

So you think Bezo’s has the best of intentions toward President Trump.

I see…

Sorry ED I guess you’re correct ole’ Jeff and Donald are good buddies. Bezo’s would never have anything written about Trump that was untrue, and without merit…say from anonymous sources–HA!

The onus is on the wacky left to prove that Russia controls Wikkileaks not the other way around. How does one prove that they are NOT in cahoots with another party?

It’s proving a negative that can’t be done.

Prove Joe didn’t see a UFO last night…ya know what I mean?

Once again, no. The issue is the corroboration of the story by the WSJ (conservative outlook; not owned by Bezos), which undermines your initial implication that the WaPo published the story because Bezos had an ax to grind.

Not sure if he qualifies as “the wacky left,” but I think Trump appointee Pompeo did a pretty good job on this score.

Really? What unnamed sources did they use? Oh that’s right when someone doesn’t give a name you cannot refer to it…silly me.

Wrong again he didn’t prove that Russia controls Wikileaks.

Do you understand what the word “proof” means?

Yes…of course you do.

So come up with some proof or go do what the other lefty’s do…go break a window or something.

Your anger is starting to show, Zeb. It’s entertaining watching you and Raj tie yourselves in knots trying to protect your brand. Let it go. Salvage what dignity you have left and sell your Trump stock. We shorted it a long time ago and our payout’s looking bigger and bigger by the day.

You have to admit that Trump is making republicans look horrible right now. You should be all for removing him from office. That way, and you’ve said this yourself, you’ll get a real conservative to run things. And it might even salvage the GOP hold on congress next year.
