I should be posting this in the Trump: The First Year thread, but since this ties in to Russia I’ll just dump here. Blowback coming from within the party now.
Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker said the wave of negative stories related to Trump and intelligence meant the White House is in a “downward spiral.”
“They are in a downward spiral right now and have got to figure out a way to come to grips with all that’s happening,” Corker told reporters. “You know the shame of it is there’s a really good national security team in place, there’s good productive things that are underway through them, and through others. But the chaos that is being created by the lack of discipline is creating an environment that I think — it creates a worrisome environment.”
The three statements from the WH so far have all been pretty identical: they all say no “sources or methods” were divulged, but not one of them has said there was no classified information shared. Because of how this could impact relationships with our allies, many talking heads are saying this is, without question, the worst infraction by this administration so far.
And yet one more anti-Trump story that will go no where…like the Russian nonsense. In the end I think if Trump actually does do something dastardly by then no one will believe it. The left wing media loses mountains of credibility by the day. And the electorate is taking notice and are going to be punishing the left in the mid-terms.
Trump won and the left wingers just can’t seem to get over it.
Republicans should be demanding his resignation over this national security breech. It’s incredibly inept or negligent at the very least, and if he’s compromising the national security of not only the US, but our allies, it should be grounds for forcing him to resign.
It’s fundamental that a president be able to understand and respect classified information.
And now, via Twitter, Trump has admitted he shared intel with the Russians…even though we were just assured by mindless Trumpkins that it never happened.
Presidents are allowed to share Intel as they see fit. It’s been implied or said directly he “leaked” Intel as though he was subverting US interests to help Russia.
