I ask this seriously…
What is that tweet supposed to show?

I dunno, I was curious if the usuals would chime in to criticize it.
But one thing I’ve observed abroad is the cultural difference displayed in the picture.
In Europe they don’t smile much and not at strangers like they do here
First of all, Trump didn’t have a meeting with the Ukrainian foreign minister - I mean, Trump is literally sitting behind his desk while the hapless Klimkin awkwardly leans on the table.
When foreign officials deemed less important visit the White House, they’re usually received by the VP or even by someone further down the ladder and are afterwards brought in for a quick photo with the POTUS (I know something about this practice), so that in case they’re coming from a lesser ally they can boost their credentials back home and boast about “unwavering US support”.
The White House probably didn’t think much about this until someone smarter (or less stupid) realized almost a day later that they could use this rushed photo with the Ukrainian foreign minister to spin the whole Lavrov visit as part of a top secret hush-hush negotiating process, and not a veritable PR disaster engineered by the Russians.
He would win major points with me if he would just do this, and I am an anti-Trumper. I would even give him some minor points for sticking with policy tweets–twitter is annoying (and thats why I am not on it) but it is a world changing media platform and he could be using it to pitch his policy points–he is supposed to be a great branding guy right? So twitter could be his “fireside chat” method for policy.
Anything to make me believe he is actually focusing and thinking about the issues.

Eric Holder … said that the director’s decision ‘was incorrect,‘" Rosenstein wrote, referencing Comey’s actions as the Clinton email probe was conducted. "‘It violated long-standing Justice Department policies and traditions. And it ran counter to guidance that I put in place four years ago laying out the proper way to conduct investigations during an election season.’" [/quote]
And Eric Holder knows about violating Justice Department policies…
Who is their source?
Obama and Hillary. What, no good?
At some buying into these Articles becomes a giant gullibility test.
I’m not going to rehash the same old ground and explain to you how journalism works, Raj. Believe what you want.
Journalism today is really just leftist activism in disguise
The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.
The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.
“This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”
King Abdullah of Jordan is probably very pissed right now.
I have no idea if Trump actual colluded with the Russians during the campaign, but if you’re the Russians, at this point, you clearly think Trump is a useful idiot (polezniye duraki).
From what I understand, the information he purportedly shared is never viewed outside of a SCIF and isn’t shared even with our own allies, let alone our adversaries. If this report is confirmed, I’m not sure what else would need to happen before at least a few GOP members of Congress start turning on him. (And, of course, don’t forget the US media wasn’t allowed in, yet TASS was.)
Looks like the New York Times just confirmed it.
Well, it’s not probably the first time they gleaned sensitive information from a narcissistic idiot.
Don’t forget that Michael Flynn was invited to Moscow to give a lecture to GRU officers, being the first Westerner to enter its HQ. Talk about stroking one’s ego…
I’m sure “Oh, you’re so smart! Please do tell us more how you guys tackle terrorism!” was often used…
Trump’s Achilles heel right there.
