Exclusive: The former Trump campaign advisor discusses claims that he had contact with Russian intelligence during the presidential campaign.
The Chinese are the real threat.
I’m glad (true or not I don’t care) that everyone thinks Trump and Putin are in bed together.
There have been others too. In addition, a few were arrested in Russia in rather Tom Clancyesque fashion in the past two months.
The Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta says Mikhailov was arrested during an FSB meeting in early December when officers came into the room, put a bag over his head and took him away.
If anything, it sounds like we have a leak in our intelligence service that is giving up informants. There is historical precedent for this.
Or Russia is just covering their tracks.
The newspaper said only that the FSB discovered Mikhailov’s alleged involvement in the purported plot after the U.S. accused King Servers of the cyberattacks on the U.S.
raj:
Wow…it really is a joke that the author of the “National Review” article would yell “partisan.”
If I had my contortion PIC on this computer, I certainly would post it here.
(I will also post one of the authors statements that just spewed bias once I can get to my main computer).
The administration now trying to get out ahead of these revelations.
My thoughts exactly.
That National Review article Raj put up certainly is a different take on the perjury idea.
As I read through the transcript of Franken’s line of questioning, I’ll admit that I thought Franken was confusing. I could see how Sessions might have answered “no” to that question, depending on what he discussed with the ambassador. Even so, he should have clarified that he did in fact meet with the Russian Ambassador in his office. The other “meeting” at the Heritage Foundation event doesn’t sound significant at all.
Would that be the FALSE AND DEBUNKED DOSSIER that was so FALSE AND DEBUNKED as to persuade the FBI to pay its compiler for more intelligence memos just before he disappeared in well-founded fear for his life? The FALSE AND DEBUNKED DOSSIER describing foreign-national communications that have been verified with SIGINT? The FALSE AND DEBUNKED DOSSIER whose author the SSCI is planning on asking to testify in their counter-intelligence investigation? The FALSE AND DEBUNKED DOSSIER about which one of the most prominent and high-access journalists in the world was told the following by an intelligence official last week:
They are continuing to chase down stuff from the dossier, and, at its core, a lot of it is bearing out
Is that the FALSE AND DEBUNKED DOSSIER you’re talking about?
From the article:
This is a shameless bit of quisling agitprop given that the report McCarthy is citing explicitly & on page one concluded that the Russian interference in the election was intended to help the electoral odds of Donald Trump and harm those of Hillary Clinton.
Dossier says Trump associates were offered the brokerage on a 19 percent Rosneft sale, attributes this to a source close to Sechin.
Privatized 19.5% of Rosneft sells.
Sechin’s chief of staff is found dead in the back of a car.
I’ll tell you this: if I’m Steele, I’m making goddamn sure nobody in the White House knows my whereabouts.
Anyway, we now have the second top Trump official under heavy fire for lying about contacts with the nuclear adversary that had just broken US law in an unprecedented intervention in a US election as part of an active measure intended to help elect his boss. We have British & Dutch intelligence collecting on Trump-circle meetings with Russians all over Europe (& more revelations from both foreign intelligence agencies & the USIC assuredly to come). This isn’t going away.
The more I think about this…the more I think that I align with Puff.
This whole election…from the Trump Presidency to the majorities in Congress and State Houses across the Nation…was a referendum against a biased media (“fake news”); lying Politicians (“drain the swamp”); and not wanting “business as usual”.
If there is nothing there…then Trump needs to be Trump…SQUASH IT!
Embarrass the biased media and the DEMS. If this election has proven anything, its that the President’s support will not waver one bit.
And this needs to be ALL Trump getting straight-up Medieval. Not Conway. Not Spicer. Not Bannon of Priebus. Not his kids.
The hesitation of Trump to not get on top of this; especially if there is nothing there; just makes no sense.
Ah hell no. We’re just getting started.
As Sessions just proved, sometimes the worst thing to say is anything. Tell the truth and you look bad, tell a lie and you look worse.
And I want one question answered - during the election season, why were so many Trump campaign staff, affiliates, surrogates, flunkies, cronies, minions, hangers-on, yes-men, and bobble heads all talking in some capacity to Russia?
We are just getting started.
The hesitation of Trump to not get on top of this; especially if there is nothing there; just makes no sense.
When I first got into management many years ago, I made the mistake of brushing off a concern another manager had with a member of my team. And it blew up in my face. I quickly learned to utter the phrase “I’ll look into it.” And it has served me well.
I can’t fathom that Trump hasn’t picked up even an ounce of understanding of politics after all this time. He’s had many opportunities to take some heat off himself and his administration, but instead, he doubles down every time. This just feeds people’s suspicion even more.
How do you think Page is going to fare if he has to testify?

Exclusive: The former Trump campaign advisor discusses claims that he had contact with Russian intelligence during the presidential campaign.
Tell the truth and you look bad, tell a lie and you look worse.
My standard advice to the residents is ‘Tell the truth—it’s easier to remember.’
