Russia Won't Go Away

This plea deal doesn’t come for free. So what and who is Flynn giving up?

Key thing here - he got caught lying about talking to the Russian ambassador about Obama’s December 2016 sanctions. So, why lie? Did someone above his pay grade instruct him to?

I think he’s facing something like 30+ charges and this is just one. And no mention of his son. So either there’s more coming or he’s flipped.

BTW, this is the Fox News front page right now:

What a relief. I was worried they’d forget HRC is the real problem that exists today.

Retired Lt. Gen Michael Flynn has promised “full cooperation” in the special counsel’s Russia investigation and, according to a confidant, is prepared to testify that Donald Trump directed him to make contact with the Russians, initially as a way to work together to fight ISIS in Syria.

The stunning turn comes as Flynn, who is cooperating with investigators in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI about his back-channel negotiations with the Russian ambassador – talks that occurred before Trump took office. The Special Counsel made the plea agreement public Friday morning.

The plot thickens. Thanks for the updates fellas.

What plot? Nothing is happening except BENGHAZI! HILLARY’S E-MAILS! URANIUM DEAL!

You should be happy that you can say Marry Christmas because there has been an open war against Christmas for the last eight years and not worry about some very complicated stuff that no one actually can understand about some alleged treason-shmeason so let’s all focus on what’s really important, and that’s Bill Clinton’s presidency.

On a completely unrelated note, there’s nothing wrong with 30 something men pursuing girls that may or may have not hit puberty.

It looks like only ABC is reporting that. CBS & AP are reporting: “…he personally spoke with a senior official of the presidential transition team who, he will also testify, was with other senior members of the presidential transition team at Mar-a-Lago.”

I’m sure Kushner is so distraught over this that he can’t figure out which Ralph Lauren line to wear today.

It is also no coincidence that Manafort is getting some leeway in his travel restrictions and house arrest stuff. Info for freedom this ain’t rocket science. They are all snitching and I think I know why. A Pardon doesn’t save these guys on all charges. State or federal prosecutors can hold back on indictments. So the statute of limitations on felonies is 10+ yrs in some cases. So they decide to charge down the road if they want. Also, they can slow roll the process and go to trial after Trumps presidency is up. Pardons only work after a conviction and a sentencing hearing. This would actually put Kushner & Trump in Orange while Fyln Manifort and others walk. If Mueller wants to bring down the house he has to either wait out the Trump presidency or gamble that Rebs will choose country over party and impeach then bring treason charges…They wont so looks like 3 more years of poop tweets but then Trump and fam get the penthouse at Rikers

It’s not a closed case that a sitting president can’t be indicted. And, from my understanding, there are two problems with him issuing pardons: 1) if the pardon is used to conceal his involvement in a conspiracy, it would (rightly) be challenged, and 2) to accept a pardon, that person needs to admit guilt, which potentially opens up others to prosecution.

This is the part I can’t wait for personally. Let’s see how much speed that snowball picks up.

Are you sure on that? I dont think a person has to confess to be pardoned. Many presidents have pardoned folks who went full trial not guilty. Then had been servicing sentences. Many going through multiple appeals process. I don’t think the confession matters. He recently pardoned that shit ass sheriff in AZ I’m pretty sure he didn’t admit to violating peoples civil rights, torture, and police misconduct.

There are substantial differences between legislative immunity and a pardon; the latter carries an imputation of guilt and acceptance of a confession of it, while the former is noncommittal, and tantamount to silence of the witness.

I’ll let tyler handle the other stuff, but the sheriff admit to intentionally not following the judges explicit orders knowing it was a felony to do so iirc.

But just in the case of arresting and holding people on suspicion of immigration infractions and referring people to ICE.

He never admitted to the improper use of campaign funds and staff he was accused of.

Was he pardoned for this as well? I thought it was just for knowingly denying people their 4th amendment rights and contempt of court

I think he was legit exonerated on the campaign charges. They were looking to get him any way they could. Like Capone.

Not sure why they were working so hard. Guy kinda knowingly admit to intentionally breaking 4A.

On second thought, they probably just wanted something flashier to stick.
