Russia Won't Go Away

Then make a bet if you’re so confident.

I think the only thing to do is trust the alt-right, the beacon of truth who don’t care about their ratings or use click-bait because of their dedication to true journalism.

A news program concerned about ratings?? Oh shit, what are we going to do?!?!?!?[/quote]

CNN is supposed to be selling facts with honest reporting. That’s where their value is supposed to be as an organization. They’re clearly not offering that if the narrative is predetermined by the CEO.

They’re coverage of Russia dominates their coverage.

As Bonifield admitted in the video, they have nothing on Trump and if there was something it would have been revealed in the host of leaks that have occurred. So why is it the dominant coverage at the cost of other news?

Because it brings ratings… Scroll up and read above, then think about your question, and understand it has already been answered.

Wrong.

Because the media isn’t impartial. They cater to viewers in the same way MTV does. They’re companies out to make a profit. Stories like Russia drive higher ratings which drives higher profits.

This isn’t disputable. It’s the way the media/business works.

Edit: When I say “media” I mean ALL media. Even infowars works this way.

What is laughable is Raj thinks the news he is consuming is the “real truth” with no bias or spin and is all up in arms over other people going for ratings by reporting a story their viewers care about. Gotta love it.

Raj also believes nobody should believe the Russia meddling “nonsense” until such a time that the raw data is released to the public. Of course even if it was released, he would immediately cite that it comes from the CIA/NSA/etcetc, who has lied before at some point, so the raw data itself can’t be trusted.

His view of media seems pretty tame compared to that.

Then you admit they’re not selling news, just playing to your fantasies.

Can’t tell if sarcasm or not linking far right conspiracy theory website article as proof and discredited people like Sherrie Joe.

Yes, if this story turns out to lead to his downfall, I anticipated that his supporters will deny it and chalk it up to a massive smear job. What’s interesting now, though, is this “collusion isn’t illegal” line being touted by Fox & the alt right. That’s gained steam this week.

In light of reports that Flynn has been talking at length to the Feds, Manafort registered (retroactively) as a foreign agent, everyone on the admin lawyering up with some very heavy hitters (well, except for Trump) and Trump’s admittance that Russia interfered, it seems like they are expecting something new to drop soon.

The point is not that there exist bias free news source, the point is that CNN and much of the MSM spins things so far from reality, you’re watching reality TV and not news

I don’t know what people expect when they don’t pay for their news…

This isn’t new either:
“‘From forty years’ experience of the wretched guess-work of the newspapers of what is not done in open daylight, and of their falsehood even as to that, I rarely think them worth reading, and almost never worth notice.”

Their motives have no impact on what actually happened. As the IC looked into this stuff BEFORE the media knew it existed, I find it hard to believe the media drove this shit from the start.

There’s also that whole “the media doesn’t get to tell the govt what to do” thing that people on the right keep forgetting about.

Agreed. It’s the main reason I don’t watch any MS media except on election nights to get speedy results.

They are constantly exaggerating what actually happened by pumping in these articles built upon secret sources

The media wildly inflated what the actual evidence, creating hysteria amongst Americans.

Politicians who are in the business of getting votes, are injecting the hysteria into the decisions being made.

What exactly do you think the places you link are doing? You are lapping up the drivel from anti Muslim and white supremacist websites and then saying other people watch or read stuff that caters to their fantasies.

Which, again, changes nothing that actually occured.

Also changes nothing that actually occurred. At its most fundamental level, a hostile foreign nuclear superpower dicked around with the election of the most powerful man on the planet. This. Is. Cause. For. Concern.

This has nothing to do with what CNN is reporting which is the point.

CNN should just add Democrats to the name of their company

‘Clinton News Network Democrats’–doesn’t scan all that well IMO. Also, is kind of redundant.

Personally I have a problem with the way CNN portrays these stories. I think the focus should be on Russia fucking around with the election instead of Russia being connected to Trump.

That being said, I’m fine with any Russia story being the headline. It’s that big of a deal.
