Got an 85 on my research paper. Apparently too much research, not enough ‘me’. And I thought that’s what business research papers were supposed to be. Oh well. Still pulling all 'A’s so far.

Unfortunately, many “grading systems” are subjective. It varies from prof to prof. That was one of the things I despised about college.
An 85 is a good score. And you still have your "A"s…can’t complain about that.

Actually, I do complain about anything less than an ‘A’. I appear to be OCD about my grades. What a change from being 18. I seem to get alot of funny looks for doing so, however. My philosophy is simple…‘If I’m going to do something, either do it exceedingly well, or fail miserably. Either way I learned something.’
Side note…If anyone who helped me on my paper is interested in reading it, I can send it to you. Looking for honest critique about anything in it, even though it’s already graded.
As for lifting, I’m still bangin away. Called back to work part-time, school, holidays, and family obligations have mucked up my schedule of late. Gold plated problems, really. I’ll be updating my log more frequently now that I ‘appear’ to be back on track.
Was chatted up again today by a young fella who’s been asking for advice, the same advice, over and over. Finally had to tell him to stop focusing on the minutia and add weight to the damn bar. I hope he gets the message.

Sounds like solid advice; wish somebody had told ME that 20 years ago.

Maybe he likes you?
And maybe he’s stupid.
That was unkind.
But maybe he is.
I think it’s more of the ‘Increase your _________ in _________ weeks guaranteed’ kinda of thing. And when it doesn’t working according to ‘plan’, change, complain, or bitch about it. I suspect, however, he will get it, eventually. At least he’s open to asking for help, not that I’m professional or anything.
Since it’s the ONLY lift that is continually fucking up my back, it’s now officially out of rotation, maybe permanantly. The lift I’m referring to is…wait for it…Flat Bench Press!!! For whatever reason I just can’t fix or figure out, the laying down on a flat surface and pressing is cause extreme pain in my low back, specifically where I arch. Even with no arch and light weights, it still gets fucked up. It’s like a hyperextension or something. Just won’t get better so why fight it.
However…Incline doesn’t seem to bother it so guess what I’m switching to? Yup, the Incline Press. New goal is 3 plates by Sept, 2011. At 275 right now.
Sorry for the rant. I get like this when I’m perplexed.
