From my point of view, and take that how you want to, it seems that a lot of international teams in rugby today aren’t playing intelligent footie. You have teams like France and Wales that just don’t really have sort of strategy, be it in the moment of play or systematic. They rely on brute strength alone and that’s why they suck. The thing with the All Blacks is, which separates them from any team in the world is the congruent and strategic way they play the game. They’ll be nights where things just aren’t going their way; balls slipping out of hands, missed tackles, bad kicking, etc but they will always be in contention to win a game because they’re so in tuned with how to play successful rugby. I put it down to a dedicated coaching staff but also superb leadership on the field in the form of Richie McCaw - the best tactician in rugby today.
I’m singing the ABs praises here because I just can’t see any team that can beat the All Blacks right now. I think eventually international rugby will get more competitive with European countries continuing to develop their talent but right now its pretty obvious where teams rank.
This is so true, im not gonna argue.
The games yesterday were so, so shit. So boring and unskilled in comparison to the AB’s game. It is like two completely different styles of rugby. How any of us are gonna do at the world cup is beyond me… still, it was the first game in a while for these teams.
Dan carter has really stepped up in my eyes this year. I know he has been the best for some time, but IMO always seemed to enjoy being the golden boy, like he strutted around knowing it? Now, he seems to be just getting on with it. He is so defensively sound its unreal, the complete package and ultimate player.
Ahhh…Richie McCaw. Also the best professional fouler in the game at the moment.
All this skill…and yet we could still implode…ha!
Have to agree with praise for Dc, he had an absolute blinder against the Wallies after an ordinary game (by his own standards) against the Japies.

But still a poor mans JW!
I think they might just do it this year.
