Post V-Diet Day 1
Some final results:
Weight on May 1: 221
Weight at start of V: 214
Weight today 195
Waist at start: 36in
Waist at end: 32in
Haven’t done bodyfat, probably won’t. I did the caliper measurements myself the first time so accuracy is questionable. But I can see a 2 pack, and feel the cuts in the others; I haven’t been able to do that since summer of 2000.
The waist measurement is a total shocker…I knew none of my jeans and shorts fit right but 4 inches gone? Awesome…
In double checking my cals from the past week, apparently i’ve been getting right around 1100 a day. NOT good.
I think my cals actually went TOO low in the last 5-7 days and that stagnated my weight loss. I should’ve known when I started getting headrushes every time I sat up suddenly! Wasn’t lacking protein but I WAS missing the fats (and flavor) from the peanut butter.
Plan is to increase 500cals a week until I can find some kind of proper balance with training. Next 7 days i’ll be around 1500 cals per day, then 2000, etc. Back to good ole Precision Nutrition with a shake or two a day for the next couple weeks. Need to find a job as i’m out of Flameout and Surge!
Also jacking up training volume in parallel with calories over the next few weeks. I think that, because i’m moving up cals and training volume together, it’ll be much easier to find some balance and not fall into the same old trap of undertraining and overeating.
My major goal during the next month, while i’m increasing calories, is to stay around 195ish. That’ll keep me right in balance and once I get my training and nutrition dialed in I can start manipulating for a little gain.
No rush, Eagle trials won’t come up again until December, West trials not til November and no need for any real rugby training besides 7’s (assuming I play in the short fall season) for another 2-3 months.
But for the next few days, i’m enjoying the fact that I have my MBA. Mom is flying into Denver in about three hours. Haven’t seen her since Xmas, when I was weighing 225 so I think her reaction might be a good way to gauge the success of the V Diet; not to mention a nice ego boost.
