She came across as stupid on that. But Kelly Ripa is not a comedian who was making a gay joke. She was dealing with someone about whom there’s a lot of speculation about his sexuality where he’s never disclosed it and acting in a way that might’ve been construed negatively.
No, it really wasn’t offensive, and she may not have meant anything by it. And Rosie’s reaction was uncalled for. But it’s not the same as attacking comedians for making gay jokes generally, no matter how capricious or whimsical.
In fact, she looked very stupid and quite off-base. And Kelly probably didn’t mean anything by it. Still, it’s not generally campaigning against actual explicit gay jokes, no matter how whimsical or capricious. Not to say I like Rosie though-I don’t.

I hate Rosie O’Donnell. However, I watched some show about her gay cruise and it was an eye opener. The homosexuals on the cruise really loved their kids. They seemed like some of the nicest people in the world. Really made me think about how I feel towards homo’s.
I may be missing it but I don’t see the big deal in her comments at all, I think the media is on a racial high and is looking for any signs of such.
I do agree on the hypocriscy, Rosie O’Donnell was way off base and had no right to question and insult Kelly Ripa like she did…very annoying personality at times.
