By the way, here’s a productive (if it were taken) suggestion for police officers who feel that in some places entirely and reasonable safe speeds for them to drive, which they choose personally to drive, are speeds over the posted limit:
You’re probably right that your chosen speed is safe and completely reasonable. In many places the posted limit probably is slower than what really warrants a ticket.
Maybe if a good number of you officers that drive, in your private life, over the limit were to push the states, counties, and cities to RAISE THE LIMITS to speeds that you consider safe in your own judgment under ordinary conditions, that could actually get them changed.
If the law or a regulation is wrong, you should focus your attention on getting it changed, rather than deciding to break it yourself while enforcing it on others.
