Squat 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x5x95, 5x5x135 (almost failed on the last set)
Stiff Leg Deadlift 3x8x150 (I forgot to warm up again)
Single Leg Split Squat 3x8x60
Barbell Curls 3x8x45
Goblet Squats 3x12x60 (these were hard today toward the end)
My trainer changed up my routine a bit to try to ease the stress on my lower back. I can’t quite take as many days off as he would like because of scheduale but I can get at least one day in there. Besides so far my Forza sword Saturday makes me barely break a sweat, so that is like resting, right?

Just a thought, but do you do ab work because when your abs are tight and working it protects you back.

I do work on my abs at least once a week but perhaps you are right. I didn’t really think about it. I’ll put a but more focus on that and see what happens, Thanks!
So workouts have changed a bit in order to give my back a break before I DL. Now I have a Weds. workout and will take Thursday off. Plus my Weds. work out is more upper body and puts little to no stress on my back.
Cable Rows 3x8x80
Lat Pull downs 3x8x90
Hammer Strength Iso Rows 3x5x55, 2x5x60
One Arm Rows 3x8x40 and an extra set for my weak left arm
I get to sleep in tomorrow and I from the way everything has been arranged I think I may have the work out from hell set up for Friday… eep!
Your video looks great, it looks like you have lost more weight. How is your back feeling today?
You’re doing a ton of lower body work- I can’t decide if that may be what is bothering you, or if I should be doing more myself! Hope you feel well-
Michele

Thank you. Though the scale would disagree with you.
My back is ok, though tomorrow I do DL so I’ll see how I feel tomorrow night.
I really do do a ton of lower body work, lol. My trainer is really working hard to make sure I have little to no stress on my lower by the time I do DL. I even have all of today off in prepration for tomorrow
This isn’t a workout update exactly, though it would seem that the ‘storm of the century’ is hitting early tomorrow so the gym probably isn’t happening. This is just as well as I think I need to gove my back a little longer rest. In the past when I rested after an injury I was able to come back stronger and not re-injure, lets hope this is the case this time.
I got my tax return! What did I do with some of my hard earned returned tax money, I bought supplements of course is weight lifting dork
I was going to get HOT-ROX but from almost everyones account the appetite supression might be a a bit much for me so instead I got Beta Alinine ( recomended by my trainer who is pretty much against me taking any supplements though I insisted), Se7en (cause I have always wanted to try that), and Superfood (just cause it’s new and I like new sparkly things)
On my weight loss front I have some good news, I am down by 5 lbs, yay! I have another 20 to go in reaching my first goal and then I will try to do some muscle gain for a bit.

I am not against you taking supplements.
I am against you taking stimulants. I just dont think its the best idea in the world with your diabetes though I am still looking for any information I can find on the subject.

I’m not saying it’s a great idea but I don’t think it would hurt. Besides stimulents are not exactly good for anyone. It’s ok though, I am happy with what I bought
I took off my DL day last week and I even took off the whole weekend in an attempt to not stress my lower back. It didn’t really work and I am really upset. I relayed this information and my trainer instructed me to take the next 2 weeks off and we will go from there, possibly to a program using more machines if it works better for me …
omg I can’t do that.
It makes complete sence what he is saying and I understand but I don’t think I can comply. I suppose I could use this time to do alot more cardio but the idea of not picking up a weight for that long really, really bothers me.
I am going to talk to him about at the very least letting me to upper body work.
I am most worried about losing muscle, which I am bound do while on a low calorie diet, but also if I have to end up using mostly machines it just seems sort of pointless. I won’t be strong in the end, I’ll just be really good at using those machines. I under stand I will never be super thin, and I’m ok with that, but the one thing I thought I could do and I was kinda happy with was that I could be strong, now it seems I can’t even do that because my body isn’t made for that either. I’m really frustrated.
f*ck it because I went to the gym anyways
Barbell Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x5x85, 5x4x105 (I just couldn’t get that last rep in there shrugs)
Neutral Grip DB Press 2x8x35 , 2x5x35
Hammer Strength Iso Row 3x8x55
Seated Cable Rows 3x8x70
I did cut out the One Arm DB rows and lowered the weight on the cable rows in an attempt to not put any stress on my back. I also used that foam roller thing on my back to see if I would be able to loosen it up that way. Hopefully this will all be ok.
Hey Ronda,
That kinda sucks! But do take care of it, you don’t want to end up with a permanent injury. Maybe machines would not be all that bad for a few weeks. At least they will help you keep the muscle you have.
I hope this all works out for you.

Thanks Diana!
My trainer and I worked together and cut some things out of my workout for now to see if it makes a difference. Hopefully if I heal then I can work on adding stuff back.
This week I have been keeping a highly modified/cut-down workout. Nothing that causes me to hunch over, pick-up anything heavy, or put any stress on my lower back at all…
So basicly I have very short, easy workouts that are almost laughable, yet my back if feeling MUCH better.
I think this workout log is becoming more of a journal of every injury one can possibly get while weightlifting, lol.
There will be a day, I pledge, that I will not be injured, that is my promise
Here is my mini work out for today
Lat Pull Downs(To front of Chest) 2x8x85, 2x5x100 (I used a different machine today so I couldn’t stay with my usual 90, but I am glad I know I can move up now
4 Cable Rows 3x8x80
And as I am trying to lose fat:
Cardio eliptical 30 mins
Injuries really suck, I’m always scared for my shoulders, that would put me right out of OL!
I did something stupid DLing the other day. For some reason half way up I looked down at the bar and my scapula went OUCH. I immediately thought of you LOL. But it’s all good today, just a bit of a pinch.
Glad you have these little mini workouts to keep you in the game. Once you get used to doing cardio more, it’s not so bad. I was pretty lazy about it for a while.
Take care!

I did have shoulder problems at one time, I ended up having to change somethings around and take out all direct shoulder exercises, lol.
LOL! I love the fact that injuries make people think of me
I am glad you are feeling better. I myself have a supply of IcyHot and Ibuprofen for anything that might sneak up, lol.
My trainer just gave me an updated workout for when I am back to normal and I am excited to get back to it.
I find cardio so boring sometimes…

Hope your injury is healing. Glad to hear that it isn’t totally ruining your workouts.

It is boring!
I trying listening to the radio, to tv at the gym, to a book and nothing helps. I wish I could study so I would feel like I wasn’t wasting time I groan at my own boring-ness in this statement but I just can’t concentrate on that either and I end up not working as hard.
I do think it is healing. I think I may still be resting next week but the week after I am going to start with a light DL, 135lbs-155lbs, and see how that feels. IF that is ok I am going to add in the squats and from there we can see what is causing this
