And yes, I know Santorum is pushing lower taxes and debt reduction, too. Which, face it, is a pipe dream in our current society.
Then he’s (GASP) lying to us? Ha…he’s a politician of course he is.
Okay, I agree that our society is in decay. And I’m sure you don’t think Santorum can bring us back from the brink. Ronald Reagan couldn’t even do this. Government grew under Reagan just a little less. And as for morals, forget it my friend. Moralistically there is no one man who can “bring us back.” The toothpaste is out of the tube. We can look around there are plenty of people and organizations to blame. Where to begin? We could start with Hollywood. They’ve glamorized drugs, killing, homosexuality, sex out of wedlock and a littany of other things that help bring a nation down. But what can a President do about that? NOTHING!
Here’s how I look at it Sloth, we have what we have and that’s pretty much that. Only a miracle from God will turn this country around. For example, whenever there is a great disaster people seem to return to church. I am not wishing anything like this on our nation, but short of some act of God there is no turning back. Put another way Santorum and the rest are mere players on a stage, they are not the writers and producers.
With that said, let’s not allow Obama four more years to appoint liberal judges, do serious damage through executive order and place our nation in great peril with his naive foreign policy. Let’s at least elect a republican.
As for the rest you and I both know it’s in God’s hands not some two bit politician–And remember my friend they’re ALL two bit politicians!
This is a great post ZEB. Very VERY solid indeed. Public policy did not make this nation great and public policy will not save her from her own private degeneration.
Amazing that you Americans STILL don’t appreciate what Ron Paul does for you. A candidate who has never voted to increase taxes - yeah, he’d be a nightmare running the country.
Also, anyone who regards themself as repub./democrat is pathetically weak-minded and lacking in self-respect. Vote for someone based on their individual integrity, principles, morals, ethics, career-record etc, not because they “play for the team I support”

What’s this a 23 year old foreigner who is an expert on American government and politics? Huh…I’ve never seen that on T Nation before.
Santorum does inject his beliefs into his campaign, what candidate doesn’t? His beliefs come from a belief in God, not faith in the government. But what does he say that is actually unreasonable? The opposite of licentiousness? He has never said that he will force his beliefs on others and has clearly stated the opposite that he believes that people have the right to worship as they please. This is quite the opposite of the liberal progressive secularism that is constantly forced upon us, that we should worship the government, that government knows what is best for us, that government will create the utopia that we all desire.
What we are seeing is the slow creep of tyranny upon us as the government erodes our “inalienable rights”

Rick Santorum:
“I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so.”
â??One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country. Itâ??s not okay. Itâ??s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.
------“…But what does he say that is actually unreasonable? The opposite of licentiousness? He has never said that he will force his beliefs on others” INDEED

Ah, don’t worry about it I read it okay. Like the rest of us haven’t done the same thing at some point?
The latest polls show Romney taking a slight lead in Ohio. This looks like exactly what he did in Michigan. If he wins 6-7 states tomorrow with one of them being Ohio this nominating process is all but over.

Your quote thingies must match your /quote thingies.
Also, youtube thingies need a space thingy or else the system does not recognize the quote thingies.

Or maybe this, does not matter.
You need to do a thingy match, what thingies you match determines who you quote. Or rather, who you accurately quote.

And, interestingly, Romney appears to be doing very well with Catholic voters, better than Santorum.

Has anybody offered any explanation as to why that may be so? (That Romney is doing better than Santorum among Catholic voters?)
