So yesterday I am watching t.v. when a question about Rogain and Propecia came up. The answer was that it worked but,at preventing and slowing down the process of hairloss, not Necessarily at growing hair.
I wonder would it not be better for a young person to start using Rogaine before they notice hairloss? That way the slow down the process before it happens.

I know propecia has side effects but does Rogaine?
Some people have scalp irritation, heart palpitations, or trouble sleeping. Rogaine has not been out that long, so who knows what the long term effects might be.
Not that I wouldn’t use either (or both) of them. Just be aware of the risks.
If you decide to use propecia (finasteride), make sure to get proscar instead, which is sold as a prostate medication. Propecia has 1mg per pill of finasteride, and proscar has 5mg. You can divide the proscar tablets into 5 pieces with a pill cutter and save a significant amount of money. Keep in mind that women should not handle even the unbroken propecia tablets, so if you are cutting up proscar and using it, make sure you clean the area thoroughly and keep any women in your home away from the residue and pills. You may not think it’s a big deal if you aren’t planning on fathering a child, but if something accidentally happens and you end up fathering a child with birth defects…

don’t really feel like making an appointment with my doc and jumping through the hoops for a refill.
I personally have no need for it and doubt I will need it in the future, no one in my family is bald. People have always commented on how much hair I have most of my follicles have 3 hairs coming out of it but, you never know. I was just thinking that anyone that is worried they will go bald might be better off using these products before they actually start losing hair.
