Road to Portland

Is “worshop group” workout slang for “worship group”, Patricia?

Man, you guys really were into the seminar!

Honest, Jared, your post wasn’t up when I posted mine…

Damn we think alike.

I’ll take credit for writing “Machine” and “T-nation” in the T-shower. Patricia, I’m surprised you didn’t say anything while I was there about that. Funnest shower I’ve ever took. Well, except for this one time…err…

Oh, and I was hungry again. We just happened to be taking pictures during my Round 2 meal. What? Like I’m going to put down my tasty dungeon cheeseburger for a measly picture. Don’t think so.

And Joel’s balance on that stable rock is incredible. Where’s the Road to 300 picture? Joel needs to find his camera.

Jared, mamann: well, many in that picture were kneeling.

Machine: I was so intent on showering quickly so that I could get to dinner (after workshop = MUST eat food and drink beer), that I didn’t pay any attention. Until the next day.

I must also say “thank you” for the Surge. Something you didn’t at all have to do, but it is appreciated!

brider: well, the 'tard, was for…Uh, let me just say that days before Joel’s arrival, Kong and Ko were frantically working with Yoshi to say, “Joel’s a 'tard”. Yoshi didn’t even say “freak” while everyone was there. Darn fickle bird.

So who farts the most?

You know, it was a suprisingly fart-free weekend  even with amazing quantities of beef and other proteins being consumed.

Ok, Patricia, I’ll add another quote:

jaytruly: “What??? Joel says that spooning would help his back pain!!!”

And I’ll have a few more pics as soon as they’re developed.

Just from looking at the pics, I think I would have EASILY been the smallest/weakest person there. I’m scared.

Pumping your own gas in Portland is illegal? WTF?

Yeah dude…no self-serve gas in Oregon. They will pretty much body block you if you go for the pump and I always manage to forget that at least one time every trip. It’s never made any sense to me.

Here’s another thing that drives me nuts about Oregon – they let semi’s pull three trailers full of massive frickin’ logs. It’s like a little train driving down the highway. Try getting passed on both sides by a couple of those bad boys IN THE RAIN and your whole life flashes before your eyes.

On the other hand, western Oregon is beautiful and Portland is a great city. (Although I did get so lost there once – trying to find the parking garage where I’d left the car – that my wife and kids were standing around the Spring Street Fountain wondering which hotel they should check into and what it would take to collect my life insurance.

Boy, did I ever miss out on a good weekend. Good job Thunder. Way to plan … idiot.

Actually, I think they are legal to drive through Oregon, but I don’t believe that semis as such are registered/allowed in-state.

But don’t quote me on that.

Thanks to the magic of the internet, the rest of us
were able to attend the conference via proxy… naah.
Good job anyway!

Ike, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them up in WA, too. But never down here.

Sounds like everybody had alot of fun! I’m sorry I had to miss out.

Yo guys, post more pictures for those of us that sat at home this past weekend. Looks like you all had great fun.

Indeed, I know there are more pictures out there. (Not that I took them… idiot.)

Hey guys, if you were at the workshop and you want copies of the overheads that CT used, send me an IM with your eMail addy. I think it’s 1.5 megs, so have your eMail empty.

Fitone, you have one on the way.

Can we get copies even if we WEREN’T at the workshop?

I am alive.

lets see if i can post.

Ok i better get to this while i can…

This weekend was a blast. The people, the food and the weights(fucking heavy kettlebells).

My highlights wereas follows:

  1. waking up just in time to hear Jason say ‘oh shit’ and the run over a dead deer.

  2. trying to pump my own gas in Oregon and getting pushed out of the way.

  3. Getting to the t-hostle and meeting all my forum friends.

  4. going to 24 hour ftiness just to laugh and point at people.

  5. eating a ton of food while Joel watched and nursed his diet coke.

  6. Pretty much having a mini seminar at the t-hostle. Watching Jason fly off the endo board, trying to keep up with Mike and mostly trying to stay awake(it had been over 24 hours without real sleep).

  7. the worshop(nuf said).

The whole thing was great, i would do it again in a minute and strongly recommend that everyone does.

It is so hard to narrow down my favorite part of the weekend… but i am gonna have to go with Joel. Trying to out eat him and pretty much watching him walk around with a back injury and laughing at everything he tried to do.

wow thats alot.

ok maybe more later.
