If he hit you in the back you can’t possibly be held accountable.
Unfortunately, some insurance companies now hold the vicitm’s of a rear-end collision 15% liable JUST for being on the road. It’s stupid considering that the police automatically cite the the rear-ender for following too closely and the victim is almost never considered at fault legally.

I’m an auto claims adjuster and can tell you for a fact you are wrong. People do not get negligence assigned to them for just being on the road.
Wal-Mart…one of the best places in the world to find a heavy dose of rage.
Sorry to hear about your bike, good to hear you’re not hurt/shot/stabbed/run over. Those situations can quickly become unpredicatably dangerous.
Do they even test people for driving licenses anymore? If people actually followed the “rules” for driving, there’d likely be fewer road rage incidents.
Damn, Prof, what a bunch of shit. Wal=Mart lots are the WORST. I see shit going down all the time. Once I thought I was going to have to break up a fight between these two women, but they ended up just shouting at each other and stalking off.
I have had incidents of my own out there. Ususally it’s kids acting stupid, though.

That’s what I usually get also. They are the first to ride your ass or drive crazy around you, especially while on a bike. This guy was middle aged with a kid. I honestly think some people get pissed just because they see a motorcycle. Maybe they are upset because they can get in and out of traffic better. It kind of makes those people who speed up when you try to pass them look silly.
People are waaay too aggressive when they drive. Why someone would want to hurt you or anyone for something so trivial escapes me.
Was the guy drunk, maybe?

No, just stupid with an apparent inferiority complex. Both are equally dangerous.

Is your bike your evryday transportation?
I have another vehicle. I just ride my bike more because I can fill up the tank for ten bucks and get about 120miles out of it. It is also a hell of a lot more fun and women and children seem to like it.

Some skinny fucker in a mini-van got pissed because I passed in front of him in a WalMart parking lot (mind you, I must have been going all of 10mph at the time) so he follows me out into the street and then runs into the back of my bike.
Where’s the end of the story? Perhaps you left it out for legal reasons. You can PM me the answer, I promise I won’t tell anybody where the body is buried.

Don’t underestimate the Prof. He would have likely eaten him.

Same with me but I get 200 miles on a fill up.
How many gallons does your bike hold? Mine only gets somewhere around 3.5-4 gallons (I’ll have to check the specs to known for sure).

4.8 gallons. I average 45 mpg. Not too bad for what was the hottest sportbike of 1983.

Hitting you was stupid.
What happened to good ol’ middle finger and yelling “you fucking asshole!”
It is a lost art. There is such elegance in screaming, “You bitch ass fuckwad!!” while going 60mph on the freeway. I think throwing the bird has lost its appeal in favor of pretending like you are a badass until someone actually forces you out of your car.
This happened to me on Thursday. I was leaving work and driving down the 2 lane business street, not driving slow not driving fast. This asshole comes up and starts riding my ass like we are on the freeway.
Whatever, I’m not going to go speeding on the buisness street where cars are constantly pulling out. I get to the stop sign at the end of the street and turn. Its still a two lane street and this ass decides he is going to pass me by crossing over the double yellow line into opposing traffic and cut me off. I do not appreciate people putting me at risk.
I’m pissed. We get up to the stop light at the same exact time, exactly parrellel next to each other. Middle aged fatty with a bad mustache and rainbow striped shirt. I proceed to get his attention and give him the finger and taunt him about his driving skills. He starts mouthing off and I laugh at him. He calls me a fag and I make fun of his shirt and ugly mustache.
Then he said something… I don’t know what but I responded with “Get the fuck out of your car” unlatched my seat belt about to get out. He gets the “oh fuck” look on his face and drives off.
I have to admit, I knew this guy would back down, but holy crap that was exciting lol. and stupid
The thing is though this guy obviously works on the same street as me. you would think he would be a little more polite to those who work near by.

Barney, that’s just uncalled for.
Prof, glad you didn’t get hurt and glad you were able to keep your cool and not give the guy what he deserved, because then you would be in trouble.
Nice one from today. Its about 11:30ish and I’m driving in what has to be the lightest 11:30am traffic ever. This red Mercedes SLK starts to merge, I hit the horn and they swerve back into their lane. Then they speed ahead of me, cut infront of me while flipping the bird.
Uh oh guess what color the upcoming light is ahead?
I switch lanes so I’ll be next to them on the right. I roll down the window and stare at this girl that must have been 18 at the most.
I lean my arm out the car, and while I’m not big here I’m big to the rest of the world. She looks at me and quickly turns away and puts the windows up. The entire time I’m staring at her, then the light turns and I’m following right next to her for about a mile until I make a right turn.

You should have told her you wanted to take her up on her offer =)
I try to be considerate on the road, I don’t get these people who think they’re too cool to follow the rules.
Motorcycle people are ALWAYS cool so I give them bonus room seriously though, I’ve never diven around someone on a motorcycle being an asshole that except occasions of them going 100 MPH skyrocketing by me but those experiences happen so quick they hardly count.

It is really to bad that it could not be proved that he hit you intentionally. Reckless endangerment of a child is what should go on the ticket.
Exactly. He followed me for a while without me even knowing it (the side mirrors on bikes aren’t exactly all that helpful for what’s directly behind you, especially if you have wide shoulders) and then starts honking his horn like he lost his mind right at the intersection. It was two lane street so I made my way into the street and then slowed down so I could turn and see what the damn problem was. That was when he rear ended me. The thing is, he could have easily gone into the other lane if his goal was to pass me. Like I told the cop, I’m glad I did try to stop because if he had followed me further down the street a) there would have been fewer witnesses and b) the chances of me being in a serious accident go up the faster we would have been going.
He put his kid at risk and the fact that the car wasn’t even his makes it even more stupid.
After two hours of waiting in the sun (after I did cardio this morning and hadn’t eaten) I didn’t even bother fighting for why the cop had me at fault in any way.
If it can be established that he intentionally rammed you, the rental company’s insurance company can deny liability for damages to your bike. (this is virtually impossible for rear end collisions even with independant witnesses).
