Rising To The Top

I welcome the challenge!

Sponsors? That’s pretty awesome.

Shit, if you’re eating around 2k calories the last weeks before contest, you already are out-eating me

Shopping for a sponsor? Living my dream :frowning:

Nice rowing.
I’m digging the volume there =D

Damnit. You’re going to have to slow down on those dips, sir, you’re killing me!
Nice work

Kickass work on the PRs man. Talk of sponsers??? Moving up in the world dude. Best of luck there, hopefully you score some cool swag out of it.

AC: You’re on!

Nikki: Doing my best to live the dream!

Ink: I told you it was ON! The caps meant it’s serious business.

Dove: Thanks for the comment, let’s hope so!

I like that quote. It touched me right here… <3
I’m pointing to my heart lol

Your training changed. How long is this going to last?

Glad it was able to touch you deeply.

I’m actually still on the beast building program. Mon/Thurs are the heavy days with 80-90% of my 1RM; Tues is isometrics paired with an explosive movement; Sat is heavy partials paired with negatives.

I have always planned to train in this fashion for two months, I might even do it for a third month because I’m liking it so much!

Been checking the log periodically. You’ve put on a lot of strength pretty quickly. Impressive man.

Yes, I would say a max of 2 k, unless I am having a huge training day, with lots of running, cycling, marathon weight session, a combination of all of the above. Then I have to get the fuel in the body, or I hit the wall huge.

Whiteflash: Thanks for the comment, although I’m still in ‘familiar territory’ – my lifts are now about what they were at before my contest prep. Looking forward to getting some real big numbers in the next few months.

Tim: I would imagine all that requires some extra calories!

Thursday:

A) Sumo deadlift 135x5, 185x3, 225x3, 275x2, 315x2, 365x1*8

B) Incline bench 135x5, 185x3, 225x1, 265x1*8

C) BB Row 135x5, 185x4, 225x3, 275x1*6

D1) BB curl 95x63
D2) EZ bar skull crushers 115x8
3
D3) Wide grip pull ups BWx8-12*3

Notes: Solid, took me longer than I would have liked. The deadlifts were hard, wish I would have taken a video. I probably should have eased off the weight, but I wanted to use 90%. By the last four sets I was really grinding it up and shaking hard.

I like your take on the supps - only thing I don’t have from your list is the creatine but I’m planning on trying that out after this current bikini lean out.

I’m suprised the sponsor sent you some post rather than preworkout shakes. The pre are way more popular in the industry. As someone who has had great results without them I’ll be curiouse to hear what you have to say. Also the creatine you get is pure stuff or a market blend type product?

Mim- sign me up for those buckwheat chocolate chip cookies!!

Hey now, don’t catch me too fast on front squats…

Mind getting a video up of your sumo? I’d like to see somebody else who does it like me.

Training is looking great!
When you do your sumo deadlifts, do you go full sumo or is it a modified one? Jw, because I have switched my deadlift technique to a modified sumo and am seeing great results.

As for the DAA, how long have you been taking it? It usually takes about a week for it to kick in.

Random photo for lulz.

Keep up the good work

x2 on the video of your sumo pull, I am curious as to your form.

Ah! Vedy nice work.

I love the determination to do all those sets!

N: I bought a huge container of creatine monohydrate for pretty cheap, I generally try to buy things in bulk to get a good value. I consider preworkout shakes a luxury item, and frankly I’m a frugal individual and don’t see the value in them personally. A black coffee, or a 200mg caffeine pill does the job for me. If I didn’t mention it in your log, you’re looking pretty leaned out in your recent picture!

Heavy Triple: I’m going to be gunning for you, watch out man! Here’s a video from a couple weeks ago:

Evan: Thanks a lot for the comment, I’d consider it a modified stance. I don’t bring my toes all the way out to the plates–have a look above. I’ve been taking the DAA for a week now, although the first few days I only took half the recommended dosage. Haven’t noticed anything thus far but will keep the results posted.

DF: Good one, and thanks. I posted a video above of my form, I believe my form is similar to yours but let me know what you think.

Nikki: Thanks for the comment!

Saturday: ME Day

A) Elevated sumo deadlifts 135x5, 225x5, 275x3, 315x3, 365x3, 405x3, 455x3 +50lb PR!
495xFail
B) Partial bench press 135x5, 185x5, 225x5, 275x5, 315x5, 365xFail

C) Weighted partial pull ups BW+45x5, BW+90x4*2

D) Isometric hold pull up position (20s) BW*2

E1) Leg press 180x150
E2) Hammer stength press 50x100
E3) Machine row 30x150

Notes: Awesome deadlifting session; 405 went up no problem, 455 went up smoothly and tried 495 twice but no dice. I got an isometric workout just trying to pull that sucker! I felt pretty good just moving around 455 and thought today I should aim for a 365 partial bench. 315 was cake and thought why not, I get it down on the pads and am about half way up and my spotter grabbed it. Now I was pretty sure I had it, so I figure I’d try a second time. Well, this time the bar rolls off the pad towards my neck/upperchest and the spotter fortunately got it off me quickly. Although I really wrung my left shoulder pretty bad, I’ve never had any rotator cuff issues so this should blow over. Fortunately this is my deload week approaching so my volume will be reduced to half. Although, if it feels like this on Monday I’ll be very hesitant to do any weighted dips. I had to skip negatives on bench and cut down my volume on weighted pull ups this afternoon. Didn’t have any ice at home so I had a cold shower, I’ll probably pick up some ice tomorrow.

Nice PR you got there! How high were those DLs elevated?

Your form looks great. Work on your explosion off the floor, didnt seem to be much of an explosion at all. Curious, do you have your toes all the way out to the plates or not? Just cant tell from the video.

Curious, when you do them elevated, how high?

Be careful with those negatives on bench. Do em too heavy, and you are simply asking for an injury.

Nice liftin buddy

Thanks for the pic compliment - mostly alcohol bloat. Frenchie loves her wine. I’m trying to keep it down to a few glasses on the weekend. We shall see how long that holds.

Thanks for the supps feed back - I’ll be looking for some creatine in feb and see how I react to it.

Damn those Deads man!! there’s a bunch of us trying to catch up. You need to slow down a little
