Good thinking man. I think I’ll keep it to Tuesdays for now and that should be plenty recovery
My protein and creatine arrives today. I’m hoping having protein shakes will help with my appetite. My weight has been going up at the rate I want so far, so I’m not going to increase food intake… but I’m so hungry constantly !!
@danteism whats your protocol with creatine? Apparently for one week you’re meant to "load"it and have ten grams a day, then from there 5 grams a day.
I just take 5-10g per day (more if I’m dieting, less if I’m gaining). The whole loading creatine thing sounds like a way for the manufacturers to make more money to me
Why do you take more if you’re dieting and less when gaining? I’l probably just have 5grams per day then and not bother with the loading stuff.
To keep performance up during diets and to have more water retention. That’s because generally you’re pretty dry when dieting and having some water retention will keep your joints happier and you’ll feel safer overall.
When gaining you’ll have the water from food and you won’t have to worry about losing performance as you are in a surplus
I’m not dante(as far as anyone knows that is), but yeah loading doesn’t do anything for you and isn’t necessary. I would always take 5 grams before and 5 grams after a workout. Then 5 grams the morning of a rest day. Also, a lot of preworkout already have creatine in them so check and see if you’re has some.
Ohhh
Yeah true
Creatine is dirt cheap and they’re trying to make people use it more by telling people to “load” lol. Fools
I don’t take pre-workout my dude. I have trouble emough getting to sleep at night (ADHD, Anxiety etc) haha
My bad, thought you got preworkout as part of that massive order haha.
Theres so much supplements and shit id like to try haha but i thought instead of potentially wasting money just stick to the basics, whey and creatine.
At the gym after a few warmup sets I’m all good to go. If i feel like shit i’m more likely to have a bad session if i go in with that mindset of " i feel like this so this will happen" blah blah. If i go in and say " it doesnt matter, just train and get through it" it will be a good session. (Most of the time, i guess theres like rare days where you feel trash and cant do anything about it.) I also cant afford to let things affect my gymtime like a night of bad sleep etc. Its the only thing that keeps me sane. The 8 months where i wasn’t lifting i was so f***ed up because stuff just gets to me 10000% more and i hated where i was, i mean I’m always going to have mental health issues that i cant just make disappear but there are steps you can take to help.
That was kinda random but yeah, i feel like i dont need to waste money on preworkout.
Random, but very understandable. Yeah preworkout is a waste of money IMO. Coffee and a positive mental attitude is all you need.
Self Life update i guess?
Just wanted to say that I’m doing great right now. I have my family, best friend, ( i live at his house), i have heaps to do now that im in the perth area again and access to shit i need. So I’m where I want and need to be. I have 1000% freedom ( I can literally do anything i like, i dont be an idiot though, i go to bed and try get enough sleep, focus on my studies etc)). Im an independent minor now so I’m responsible for myself entirely and its amazing. And yeah the world is mine for the taking friends.
Creatine works by saturating your body with it. The loading phase just gets your levels up faster. There is a max saturation so more isn’t better (in my opinion). I just read an article on it a week or so back and it said that if you don’t load it then you’ll reach your saturation levels in about 30 days. I want instant results so I loaded it by taking 5 grams four times per day for a few days.
The article also cited some study (that I didn’t check) that said that people taking creatine post workout had more muscle mass gained than the group who took it before the session.
I think it was a minimal difference but I’ll take any advantage I can get.
40 min cold bath
Then
Pull aparts
Hip flexor stretch
What if you take it pre and post workout? Would you get the tiny miniscule pathetic amount of more gains than just taking it post workout?
I’ve been off of it for around 4 weeks. I took my creatinine pre and post workout. Just FYI
I haven lost anything being off
I don’t know. I always thought the timing didn’t matter because it’s about increasing your levels of creatine. The researchers didn’t know why the post workout group improved more.
Another cheap supplement to consider is beta alanine. It makes your skin burn and itch by you can split up the dose to help with that. It’s the ingredient in most pre workouts that people like because they can “feel it working”.
Google: Stacking Creatine and Beta-Alanine for Better Results
The first result should be an article on M&S that explains the benefits.
