Thanks man! Nothing to heavy today. Just working on speed and form. I have to not rush it, today on one of my sets i rushed the setup and tried to go to fast at the start and almost fell over haha.

Eh. My baseline for a decent farmers carry is atleast 130kg per hand. Next session I’m bumping it up to 110kg. I expect to hit 130 per hand in the next few months. If only it carried over alot to my deadlift ![]()
So my legs and back are really sore right now. I expect horrible doms tomorrow lol. Hopefully im not loading weights at WA’s strongest man and woman. (I volunteered to help tomorrow) I’m helping pack and set up and I’ll be there all day tomorrow. Atlas stones today i finally used my hams and glutes for once. Really fried them since i actually engaged them. Also those dead stop front squats fucked me up ![]()
Jeezus 110kg stone. I couldn’t even imagine lifting that. What lift would it be closest or equivalent to?
I nearly got it off the floor. You could easily lift that. Everyones different due to leverages/size and the like but the higher your deadlift and squat is id say the better chances of lifting heavier stones. I just remembered but a good comparison is you should be able to atlas stone half your deadlift.

Just realised i read it wrong. The u90kg novicr weights i was striving for was actually the u105’s novice. The u105’s novice also happens to be the u90’s regular weights so i could have a chance to place for state finals next year at my comp, if i compete in u90s regular!! Or i can compete in u105’s novice. U90kg novice would be too easy considering i can lift above comp weights already
Did you mention the comp weights at some point? It’d be interesting to see them

Weww what a day. I was so excited that i didn’t sleep at all last night. I went and helped setup as well as loading weights/spotting/setting events up all day. This is the tiredest I’ve ever been. Got to meet the only person in australia whos closed the captains of crush #4 (jeremy hog) he’s also competed with eddie hall, the mountain etc. Strong af and humble dude. Anyways i Also got sone nice PR’S. There was a grip medley and to mess around I tried out two of the grip thingies. First there was a 2 inch dumbell (70kg). I loaded that to a box with one arm, second thing i got was pinch block. The weights on it were still loaded from the heavyweight medley so i just used that. (30kg pinch block) i easily got that for reps, then i did a static hold with it with both hands. WTF. Guys wayy stronger than me struggled on this (lighter divisions, also lighter pinch block). I never do pinch training apart from pinch gripping plates everytime I’m in the gym. Good day! Going to sleep now lol.

Yoke
u90/u105 kg novice
245kg 15 metres. Right now id zero. Have only done yoke twice lol. By april I’m confident I’ll be able to get the 15 metres and move that weight., how fast that is i won’t know.
Monster dumbell clean and press for reps 60sec
U90/u105 novice
45kg. Never done this event in the gym, however i know i wouldn’t zero right now. Plenty of time to get stronger.
Deadlift for reps 60 seconds
U90/U105kg novice
180kg. Would zero this right now, however by april i know I’ll be able to bang out a couple of reps.
Farmers carry
U90/u105kg novice
105 kg per hand
Easy for me. By April i expect to be up to 130kg per hand.
Event 5. Loading medley

80 kg sandbag, 80kg keg, 100kg sandbag. I could do this right now. Theres a 60kg keg in the gym i can easily run with, plus i almost picked the 140kg sandbag up. 100kg sandbag would be fine.
That leaves yoke and deadlift that need the most improvement, otherwise I’m on track to compete. However i doubt the first comp of the year will be exactly the same as the year’s previous. But it’s just part of what I’m basing it off

I’m so glad im not the guy spotting, i was just there to help load the barbell back onto the rack from the box. (It required three people, especially as the weight got to 275kg). Matt from my gym won the comp, also got ten reps on the 275kg axle squat. Was awesome to watch.
