Rise of the Planet of the Apes

The CGI in the movie looks top notch. You can really see the emotion on the Caesar’s face during his internment and the resentment when he escapes.

Looking forward to this.

The whole story is creepy, not the actual monkeys going crazy and causing havoc but the concept of biological engineering and the significant prominence it will have in our future. This story like Jurassic Park is a symbolic reality check on the potential consequences of biological advancement and the lines of ethics it is starting to breach and will undoubtedly one day obliterate.
Very well said.

And if the threat of stepping beyond the moral boundaries of biological advancement isn’t enough, we of course have the technological age to worry about as well. There’s a great sense of foreboding in the writings of Asimov, Herbert, and the like who hint of a future wherein man has lost his battle against the machine he strove so hard, for so long, to perfect.

Already our machines are treading into the regions of space where we cannot go. How many hundreds of years till we become slaves to our own ingenuity?

A new trailer is out or has been out. It shows the motive behind the ape that James Franco character raised.

Since we’re kinda on the topic, i heard scientists have created half chimp half human creatures for further research into treating diseases. I don’t buy that one bit though lol. I think biologists are just dicking around. Oh and they are killing off the embryos before like 15 days or something

Though this kinda spoils the movie for me, I actually like this trailer better.

How do 100 Apes take over a planet with 6 billion humans in it.

Shenanigans.

Looks great, but elements of it sadly remind me of Nim… the chimp who was raised by humans in the 70’s and was taught sign language.
A documentary is coming about Nim:

As a kid I loved ALL the POTA movies, and the tv series.

This film looks great because now we have a visible reason why the apes have taken over.

Can’t wait for the release date!
I remember watching the original movie on TV with my dad and he missed the part where the ship’s chronometer said it was the year 3998 or whatnot and my dad told me that for apes to evolve like that would mean that the year in the movie would be up around 5 million AD. I always thought that was so neat.
This movie now shows that they were artificially evolved, but of course I’m OK with that.

I wonder if this movie will show how the Statue of Liberty got all busted up.
Nuclear war. Did you see the first film?/ book?

Recent research suggests that interspecies sexual activity took place after the divirgence of the Human/Chimpanzee genetic line. This may have had a place in human evolution. Hybrids are genetically possible but it is unknown if any exist/existed
IIya Ivanovich Ivanov received state sponsored support from the Russian Federation in 1929 to do just that. It is thought he was not successful, but later Archival evidence suggest other Russian scientists did the same thing in the 1970’s and 1990’s. It is unclear if they achieved any success, but there were numerous “man/ape” sitings in the areas involved, take from that what you will. Vodka?

Poor Nim. A perfectly warped companion piece for the movie, though.

I’d so love to see this movie in Imax, that would so kick-ass. This one is a must for my collection.

I’m sure they’ll explain that in the movie.

It was Roddy McDowell, not Malcolm. He’s the guy from A Clockwork Orange.

But we have guns! GUNS! 6 billion terrible humans beings with guns!

Yes.

What if all don’t have access to guns?
