RIP Charlie Kirk

The sermon on the mount. Really, anything in red.

Not a bad choice.

But it’s not black and white either.

A central debate over the sermon is how literally its high ethical standards are meant to be applied to everyday life. Almost all Christian groups have developed non-literal ways to interpret and apply the sermon. North American Biblical scholar [Craig S. Keener]finds at least 36 different interpretations. Biblical scholar Harvey K. McArthur lists 12 basic schools of thought

ā€œWhiteā€ is a term man has chosen. So, for the 5,000 years groups of people develop common traits within themselves that distinguish each group from the other groups.

Why 5000 years?

That is about how many years have transpired since Noah got off the ark. Maybe closer to 4,400 years.

So you believe in literal interpretation of Old Testament?

What were they before the 20th century?

There have been theories that

Ham was black
Japtheth was white
Shem was brown

have no idea where that came from, but it’s a theory i remember many moons ago

Yes, but there are millions of years of the earth (between Gen 1:1 and Gen 1:2) that are not explained.

Interesting.

That’s the target. Everyone misses. When promoting/living Christ’s values, we aim for the target. The fact that we all fail is the basis of Christianity. But we need to ask forgiveness and keep trying to hit the target, not become complacent in sin.

That’s all my point is. Christian values are striving to be Christ like.

Kind of ends the conversation, no?

Well there’s nothing to gain. People are entitled to their beliefs. I’m not going to be the asshole who tries to convince someone their faith is wrong.

I personally separate scientific and religious questions. They’re not competitive.

IDK how this thread turned into a religious debate with underlying racial tones.

I’m just here to watch hateful leftists eat shit and die young.

There’s actually a good secular argument to be made that the entire political and cultural battle currently playing out in society is theological at its core.

There’s also a separate but related argument that vast numbers of people are adherents to a very old gnostic cult, with almost none realizing it or acknowledging it.

No self respecting STEM could ever buy into a young earth. The Gap Theory allows science and the Bible to coexist without each side thinking the other is stupid.

And what are the kids to do without their dinosaurs?

It’s amazing what eloquent letters and veiled insinuations of what keeping certain people would do for your enterprise in the event of a lawsuit when hiring / retention practices are brought up in regards to negligence can do.

Especially in the education and healthcare worlds.

Those seem to be the nesting places of people that are smart enough (supposedly) to know better, but too emotional to care, combined with a job/income significant enough to matter.
