To the OP…dont ever resuse needles. Its just not worth the risk for the minimal cost savings involved. There is one guy on here that is in Japan if i recall correctly and he pays a couple bucks a pop for them. Even in that case I still would not reuse.
That’s me and I don’t reuse. Pay the extra money. You care about your body enough to put exogenous hormones into it. Care enough about it to take every precaution to keep infection out.
I don’t, however, change pins after withdrawing from a vial. And I don’t have any problems with that, either. Aside from the last time, when I decided to experiment and move further down the quad and hit a nerve and found out just what hitting a nerve feels like. Damn! Pulled that sucker out quick.[/quote]
Cortes - what DOES hitting a nerve feel like?
I don’t want to know from firsthand experience but please tell me.
I imagine the pain when I do a quad shot even though I don’t know what it feels like, which makes quad shots nerve wracking.
Its really not all that severe and feels like a pinch to me. More annoying than anything. Your leg muscle will involuntary twitch or slightly spasm slightly.
As far as I know, needles are autoclavable. If needles are hard to come by this might work for you. Although you probably don’t have an autoclave, soaking in alcohol and then “baking” them (not in the alcohol) while then are in a glass container with aluminum foil wrapped over the top would probably suffice. The exact temperature and time… i do not know. Normal autoclaving runs about 30 min under pressure at something like 350 deg F.
off topic
How can one make sure that the substance they are injecting is pure/sterile? heating is bad since it can denature the substances, UV exposure can do the same. Micro filtering might be ok but I was curious what others do.

I imagined it would feel like a huge electrical jolt and be intensely painful! Well it doesn’t sound that bad.

Like LillGuy said, it feels like a pinch, a very fucking painful vice grip pinch. What happened to me was that I stuck it in and knew immediately that I had hit a nerve and I pulled that fucker right out. I probably only got a couple of millimeters into the leg before pulling it out. What sucked even more was that I had already drawn from the vial, so the needle was doubly dulled now, and I had to really shove it into my quad to get it in there. Sounds fun, eh?
That said, it wasn’t bad enough that I’m scared to stick myself again. Well, not too scared…
Once when i was injecting i had that muscle spasm when i was like half way in, then i inserted the rest and aspirated saw bubbles and just continued as usually i always wondered wat that spasm was. I thought it was just the needle going in between 2 muscles that caused it.

I agree with LillGuy - it’s rather annoying and to me feels like an uncomfortable muscle spasm. I’ve never had it happen with a quad shot but I did a calf shot a while back and found that really uncomfortable. Not pain as such - it just didn’t feel good.
However, having suffered from sciatic nerve problems in the past I can only shudder to imagine what it would be like to mess up a glute shot and give that nerve a prod!
