Results of Blood Test 7 Weeks After Starting TRT

On March 5th 2018 I began TRT treatment with 200mg of Testosterone Cypionate given every week on Monday mornings.

I am 54 years old, 5’ 10" and weigh 220.
I have exercised and lifted weights since I was 14 years old and continue to do so.

These are the results of the blood test copied and pasted directly from the PDF document that the lab sent me. They’re in Spanish because I live in the Dominican Republic but they’re close enough to English to be understood, I believe:

(These results were taken SEVEN days after the last injection prior to receiving the next one)

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Your way over the scales on Test. I don’t see Estrogen. How do you feel 7 weeks in? Positives? Negatives?

Here is the Estradiol and PSA:

Estradiol…pg/mL… 71.61 * Reference Range 5.37- 65.90

PSA Total…ng/mL… 1.41 [ * ] Reference Range 0.00 -4.00
PSA Libre(Free)…ng/mL… 0.26
Ratio (PSA L/PSA T)…%… 18.44
Valor esperado del Ratio PSA L/PSA T: >11.0%

So far I feel very good, no major complaints. My workouts at the gym are way better and I have a lot of energy.

What units are those estrogen labs?

pg/mL= picogram/milliliter

Units don’t really matter. Your above the scales on test and estrogen which is expected. At these levels I would be concerned about your hematocrit. If it were me I would try and bring those numbers into range. You don’t feel bad so you could ride it and watch the bloodwork closely over time. If you see your numbers slipping into danger zone you could start tapering back but I say why wait. I would dial in the treatment now to avoid possible issues later.

My hematocrit and hemoglobin are both BELOW normal:
Hemoglobin…g/dL… 12.00 (Reference Range 14.00-18.00
Hematocrit… 37.20 (Reference Range 42.00-52.00

I have been a blood donor for years, even prior to being on TRT, and maybe that’s why.
Should I continue donating or let the hematocrit rise a little?

You should cut back on donating blood, I understand you want to help others but what about yourself? You’re depriving your body and organs of rich oxygen and red blood cells.

How do you feel??

So far I feel pretty good.
There might be room for improvement by not donating blood and letting my Hct and Hgb come back up. I will refrain for a while and see what my CBC indicates after two months.

I’m amazed you feel alright, when my hematocrit is in the low 40’s I feel like death. Severe anemia.

What’s an optimal range for hemotacrit?

At the lab where I had the blood work done the normal range for hematocrit is from 42.00 to 52.00 and I was 37.20.

I had just donated blood three days before the test so this very low reading could be false positive in the sense that it was lowered by the donation and will quickly come back up as long as I don’t donate again for a long time.

Since testosterone is supposed to increase hematocrit I suppose it’ll build up a little faster than normal?

I also just donated blood and do not expect a more than 3% decrease, so at best I went from hematocrit 50% to 47% best case scenario. That’s almost smack dead in the center, I don’t really feel that much different but don’t care to be above the range either and I’m not going to wait till the last minute to act.

My hemoglobin two weeks before the donation was 17.0, those readers at the donation center must not be that accurate because hemoglobin was 18.6. Can’t donate past 20.
