Stopped taking testosterone cypionate for 2 months and went to an Endocrinologist for labs, based on the results she says I am fine, I feel like crap, losing strength daily and I think the lab results are terrible. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Btw I am 43 was 6’ 1” and was 199lbs while on testosterone, now I am 177lbs which I am ok with since I lost my love handles and abs are now visible but strength loss sucks.
TT - 389 (264-916ng/dL)
Free T - 7.9 (6.8 - 21.5 pg/mL)
DHEA Sulfate (not sure if this is relevant) 420.1 (102.6 - 416.3 ug/dL)
Estradiol - 16.9 (7.6 - 42.6 pg/mL)
FSH - 3.6 (1.5 - 12.4 mIU/mL)
LH - 2.6 (1.7 - 8.6 mIU/mL)
Prolactin - 3.2 (4.0 - 15.2 ng/mL)
SHBG - 62.8 (16.5 - 55.9nmol/L) this one scares me the most
TSH - 2.07 (.45 - 4.5uIU/mL)
Thanks in advance
Those numbers definitely suck. DHEA is upstream and converts to testosterone and estrogen. Your shbg is very high contributing to your low free test. Prolactin is low. So is estradiol. You should feel like crap right now.
I really do feel like complete crap.
Why did you stop taking it?
My numbers were doing better was getting stronger (not my main objective) but my libido and energy, brain fog and mild depression didn’t get any better so I was trying to see if a restart would improve anything but I was very wrong. Plus I was not happy with my clinic so thought the endocrinologist would get me better results. If my TT came in lower than 300 she was going to prescribe testosterone but for some reason I cane in over 300, just my luck.
What did your numbers look like while on?
Interesting doctor says your fine and yet you feel like crap, doctor is chasing labs numbers like I chase women. Completely ignoring the symptoms, this doctor isn’t able to form independent thought and your symptoms does not compute.
She is missing the SHBG connection, so much for learning about hormone in medical school.

You should find a doctor who can help you and is willing to help you. You want someone who’s not going to go by numbers alone. Like systemlord said, she’s looking at the wrong things and is ignoring the symptoms. That’s not good doctoring.
While I’m certainly not suggesting this in any way, I have heard anecdotes about guys taking a suppressive substance for a few weeks before a blood test in order to artificially lower their test numbers. But of course you should never do such a thing in the name of your health and well-being. It would be deceitful to do that just to get yourself healthier…
I know a guy that took birth control pills prior to getting his blood checked. Got his insurance company to pay for TRT!!!

How long were you on trt? Did you try incorporating something like daily cialis? Sometimes it takes time boss. You need to do something about this. Your at disease state levels and will pay for it later in life. Get a different doctor. Do what you have to do. You only have one life to live so make it count. You shouldn’t spend the rest of your life feeling like garbage. If your interested post your trt protocols and labs and maybe we can help. Best of luck to you brother.
Thanks for all the responses. My numbers were pretty good on a 2x per week 60mg per injection dosage. TT was 617, E2 - 34, Free 12.7 and SHBG 36.7.
I am also on daily Cialis 5mg prescribed by my GP.
Even with the numbers above symptoms still persisted, which is why I stopped.
My GP is not able to prescribe narcotics for 3 years do to some legal stuff, I think he had a law suit or something. He would treat based off symptoms and not do much numbers but not sure I can wait for him to get his ability to write scripts again. I think he has another 18 months left.
Honestly those numbers aren’t all that good. Your tt should be higher on that dose and your ft is low. Obviously the ft is due to your shbg. You should try a once a week dose of 120 mg for starters. Knock down that shbg and bring up your ft. That’s a good start. Just my 2 cents.
