The GOP will never outlaw abortion even if they got the chance. Because, if they got rid of abortion, then why would evangelicals vote for them if it was no longer in debate. Many evangelicals are single or two issue voters (abortion and gay rights).
No one thinks that gay rights are going to go significantly the other direction, so that leaves abortion.

I was doing it on state roads/ contracts. People would swear and blow their horns and all kinds of craziness. And I’d just be like “I’m on double ot because its Saturday and I just passed 80 hrs. For the week! I hope the paver bursts into flames! We’ll be here all night!”.

You are correct. The evangelicals have already sold their sold to the devil(btw as an atheist I don’t believe in any devils)for abortion in supporting trump. As long as he puts the judges on the Supreme Court to overturn roe v Wade they are ok. Even if they don’t get that they feel that all the federal judges that serve for life that he appoints will also make it worth it. They still think you can legislate morality.

On the issue of legislating morality. Why not make boatloads of money off taxing pot, instead of spending on jails and prisons! Just because a group of people who vote Republican think it is immoral.
The amounts of revenue they talk about states like Colorado making are a small dent of the total impact when you consider the prison savings.
Private prisons spend big money on lobbiest, so do police unions on this issue ( it’s great job security).
