The reason for this, I believe is, the neo-conservative attitudes that exist in the military. Saying gays are weaker, less trustworthy, or less able in any way are cop-outs by people raised to be “fag-haters.” If you feel the need to practice bigotry, then do so in your own home, but don’t let it enter into mine.
By the way, I’m not gay nor do I have any gay friends.
