Rep. McKinney

Don’t think me unsympathetic. I know racism exists. I have seen friends get shit on because they are black.

Us white people get shit on too but I would guess less frequently than black people.

McKinney shits on people. Her cries of racism here are phony.

Is there any other sourcing for any of her claims that “white representatives go through unchecked and pinless whereas black representatives are forced to comply with rules or be checked”? Perhaps there’s a lot less to her claims than meets the eye…

Is there ever any sourcing for these types of things? Honestly, unless you’ve experienced this type of thing on a regular basis, you won’t pay any attention when it happens to someone else. Also, unless you have a camera following each and every person that comes through there every day over the course of years, and had the time to review all the recordings to prove that it happens, it is very hard to prove. I’m not saying that it did or didn’t happen, I’m saying even if it did happen, no one will believe her or anyone else that makes this claim. Of course, even if it is true, nothing would happen anyway. It will just get blown off as usual.

It shouldn’t be that hard. There are other black members of the U.S. House and the Senate who could easily step forward and corroborate that story. Doesn’t seem to me as if they are jumping to do so…

It’s harder than you think it is given the climate of the House and Senate.

Who wrote these views about her? Question the sources and it will indicate the biases attached. Again, I’m not saying whether they are right or wrong, but I have issues with views that are written about people who don’t fit the mold or expectations.

As far as the police chief is concerned, why would he take her side over one of his employees? Unless the employee is caught red-handed, the expectation that he would take her side is stupid.

I should hope he would take his employee’s side – especially an employee with no other record of problems (I’ve not seen any reported) versus a person of McKinney’s reputation and history.
Again, question who built the reputation and history. I’ve seen her portrayed several different ways, some good and some bad. The difference are the sources of the portrayal.

I’m not saying she is a perfect saint or anything, she might very well be nuts, it’s just I’ve just seen too many occassions of how people are portrayed in the media. I’ve been places when people have spoken and then read in the paper or heard on the news about things that they either said or didn’t say at the event that were total fabrications. I tend to be skeptical.

This nimrod piss-poor excuse for a congress person deserves jail. If I hit a cop, I’d be in jail. So should she. There is no argument, she hit a police officer…jail. It’s mathmatical really.

Let me say this, this has in no way affected my opinion of her because it could not get any lower. Everytime she opens her mouth something illogical and stupid comes out of it. Why the crack whores in Dekalb county elected her I’ll never know. I can tell you this about her district, The sherrif is in prison for murder. He murdered his successor because the succesor was going to reveal all the corruption in his office. Wanna guess how he did it? Drive-by shooting, is there any other way? Anyhoo, he didn’t actually pull the trigger, he hired some crack addict assasins to do it…
Oh yea, one more thing about this bitch, when she lost the election the time before this one she blamed it on the Jews, she not only said it, she spelled it. Yet she has the balls to accuse somebody else of racism. She is cheapening the term so that somebody who acctually experiences racism will not be taken seriously. I can say this, Jesse Jackson is on her side! African Americans must be proud…

anyone who wants to judge her should look at the company she keeps.

Harry Belfonte was out at her little gang rally to support her. That alone tells you what kind of person she is.

I’m surprised this thread has this many posts. I mean, innocent and proven guilty and all, but this is Cynthia McKinney we’re talking about. When I interned in Congress in high school, she went down to the credit union in the Capitol basement one day, got there a few minutes after they closed. Instead of doing the normal thing, and be quietly pissed at herself for screwing up by being late (happens to me all the time), she banged on the glass, demanded they let her in, pulled the “Do you know who I am?” routine. So this latest incident is completely typical for her.

Damn I am proud to be a Georgian! The say she’s pathetic would give her to much credit. You should see the district she represents, Whores and crack dealers. Check cashing places and liquer stores with bars on the windows. I think most roaches would have more dignity than to live there.
Damn, and I wanted to move there just to vote against her.

I must say that if my job was to keep people with ill-intent out of the Capitol and someone I didn’t recognize tried to force their way in, I’d have clobbered her with a billy club. Who knows if she’s got her thumb on a button, under her coat? I’d have laid her out (no, not that way:)

I think the cop should get a medal and SHE ought to get the censure that all the whackjob Dems are trying to do to Bush.

She should be made an example of. Jail time and counseling for sure. Hitting a cop in the capitol is ridiculous. So he didn’t recognize your ugly ass, big deal. Gun men have opened fire in the capitol more than a few times no?

Wait, wait, wait - what climate?

You want to levy a charge that Congress is racist?

Hillary said it is run like a plantation.

Two or three “funny” points…

I’m curious about this “hit” concept. I mean, if the cop grabbed her by the tit or the ass, then he’d be deserving of a swat.

She’s a woman, it was a bad day, these things happen from time to time. Y’know? Do you get what I’m saying?

Anyway, more seriously, we don’t have a whole lot of detail on the way it went down. I think she was out of line if she “hit” the cop, even if she were to face extra scrutiny every day.

Either way, making a big issue out of it is probably not a productive thing to be doing.

Nobody knows exactly how it went down so the talk of punishment and jail for striking a cop is silly. Even if she kicked him in the balls she would not be punished. She is a politician. They get away with stuff.

My issue is that she tries to blame racism for being stopped. It has become such a universal cry that my first instinct is to dismiss accusations of racism because it is so overused. That is a shame because racism is still alive.

Lets just call her a bitch and be done with it.

What the hell are you talking about? Are you a complete idiot? I never levied any charges of racism, nor was I trying to either. Stop letting your own biases read so much into my statements.

The climate in the House and Senate has always been very hostile towards her (whether she earned it or not is not the question, it exists for her at any rate), therefore to expect any evidence to prove her claims more than likely would not happen.

Besides, since she has made an apology, it looks like she is admitting that she was wrong. It was probably blown way out of proportion anyway.
