there is no black and white here. only shades of gray.
and the darker shades are probably not american here.

The world opinion can change quickly as with the US citizens. The Dems were on board …everyone in the USA…proof that Saddam had WMD. He invaded KUWAIT a few yeas earlier but we were too PC to finish the job. Yes, he used it on his own people but we liberals and MSM like to forget that. Saddam did a good job of exporting/hiding/passing that in the 3 Months warning we gave him before we came back …finally…again.

But this has been argued over and over.

It was a liberation, not occupation. We are trying to leave, but we can’t.

[quote]kamui wrote:

yes, it’s clearer, but it doesn’t apply here.

to defend your country, you need to actually have a country. and that’s not really the case here.

Iraq is not a country, or at least, it’s not a country like norway or France were in 1940.

it’s a multi-ethnic and multi-religious state plagued by extreme tensions which was only united by the authoritarian regime of Hussein.

the insurgents are not trying to defend their country, they are trying to advance political, ideological and religious agenda.

the Ba’athist were in power under Saddam, and they want to take it again
the Kurds are trying to get a Kurdistan out of this mess
the Turks are trying to extend their borders
the Salafi are trying to impose their vision of the “Pure Islam”
and various Shi’ites groups are trying to enforce Sharia Law nationwide

the current situation in Iraq has nothing to do with a romantic resistance. it’s comparable to Yugoslavia just after Tito’s death. a programmed implosion.

but all of this people where bombed, invaded and occupied by usa, therefor theire struggle against the american invasion was just. It where after the invasion and during the occupation that different groups with different agendas did take the opportunity to gain power or theire own country as the kurds. this is the mess today and the american invasion and occupation is the catalyst for this. The saddam regime was the glue that did hold this country togheter.

btw: If todays iraq is splitted in smaller countrys, thats fine by me. the closer the power is to the people the more influence does the people have.

Well Americans invaded the country, what else could they possibly be?

You absolutely positively can invade countries ruled by bad people.

For your convenience:

So we need “troops”, check, to enter a “foreign nation”, check, with the possible goal of “occupying” for a limited or indefinite period of time, check.

Yup, looks like an invasion to me.

Oh, there, I found it, right next to how the Freemasons knocked down the World Trade Centre, Queen Elizabeth is an alien, and Jooooos drink baby blood as part of Passover Rituals.

Seriously, Stormfront (or whereever you are getting your info) is not a reliable source.

no it wasn’t the freemasons, everyone knows mossad had a hand in it, that way you could drag us in to get rid of all them a-rabs who are taking your holy lands, seeing as your bulldozers couldn’t move fast enough.

Oh, maybe once your google works again, maybe “Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK)” would lead you in the right direction?

You know, the Iranian wing of the PKK?

But I get it, your deep envy of all things Arab and Muslim just wont let you consider this, right?

Otherwise I cannot explain 2 pages of denial.

You got to be careful, your usually reasonable posts make your meaningless fluff stand out like a nun in a whorehouse.

not sure what the point is. I don’t know this for a fact, but if Israel is helping someone who is against ahmadinenutjob, given his actions and rhetoric - wouldn’t be surprised at all.

They are having problems now.

Military superiority is nice, as long as your opponents play by the book.

If they dont, cheap explosives can down wreck your tanks and cheap missiles can down your helicopters.

Of course one can call such people terrorists, but that hardly changes that they are obviously not willing to go home, or to line up in a battle line to get mowed down.

Bummer.

The point is that he is pissed off that Iran sponsors terror in Israel, amongst other targets against the “wimmenz and childrenz !!!1!!1” but somehow flees from the very idea that Israel might help train people who do exactly the same in Iran.

I think they are around 40000 victims now.

Not that I really care one way or the other, but the whole narrative “Israel good, Arabs bad, Muslims even worse, everyone who says different hates the US and ze Joooos” is too tempting not to rattle it a little bit.

yeah, but it appears that rageradios is alleging that Israel needs to drag someone else into this to take care of the issue. don’t think it’s a valid point since they don’t seem to need much help.

nobody’s perfect lol.
Germany sponsored murderous Russian Communists to get rid of the eastern front, US sponsored modjaheddin in Afghanistan to promote anti-Soviet resistance etc etc,so hopefully Israel is careful there since both Germany and the US ended up paying dearly for what seemed like a good idea at the time.
