That’s a high res image of one of my sperm cells. How did you get it?

I actually thought it looked like my penis after the Mardi Gras trip in '00.

Check out ‘the bloop’. Man there is some freaky shit down there

We only have 10% of this planet’s oceans mapped out…so chances are, there is shit so strange that we have no reference for it down there. We can’t even survive at the depths these creatures live comfortably in because of the pressure…and we still don’t know how far down life exists.

well as posted earlier the deepest known part of the ocean is the marianas trench at 35’000 ft.Scientist have found tube worms and crabs living down there on and around steam vents.

This is a coconut crab. They are the largest land-living arthropod in the world. They can crack coconuts, which are pretty similar to skulls.

i give to you the oarfish; the original sea serpent.

GTFO with that coconut crab motherfucker

Just give up and die.

I see your coconut crab and raise you the granrojo jellyfish

WTF IS THAT JELLYFISH FOR REAL?!!?!?!?! and the crab just looks tasty man.

LOL. My reaction too. If that jelly fish reversed, the diver would get swallowed the fuck up.

And the crab is the stuff nightmares are made of. Imagine if it got hold of your shinbone. Slice!

Why can’t we just drop a big ass trap down to the bottom of the ocean and pull it up to see if we caught anything? I’d love to see what kinda weird shit is down there.

That would make a killer research grant application.

And the idea should work. Mice often have traps all figured out, but the monsters down there have probably never seen anything other than darkness. I wonder if they even have eyes. So building a trap and sticking 20 pounds of fresh salmon in there should do it.

Has anyone got a boat and a 30 000 ft rope?

Just throwin this out there…If you did do something like this, wouldn’t you have problems with bringing the creatures up from high pressure to low pressure? Also the sunlight might do some damage?

one of my favorites: “It’s a barreleye fish and you can see through its head. The weird green balls inside are its eyes, and they are frozen staring upwards to find fish. That’s right. Rather than giving it a great sense of smell or touch or superior electromagnetic senses to help it hunt in the darkness of the deep sea, nature saw fit to glue eyes on the top of its brain and give it an invisible skull. Why not?”

firstly the trap and the bait has to withstand the preszure. IF the bait survives the trip down without getting eaten up first.

I wouldn’t expect anything brought up to the surface to survive, but when has that stopped research?

I’m not a marine biologist or anything, but surely this must have been attempted before, no?
