No, I believe you. But church going bible readers? Man.
Why?
I donât know. Just observation.
Shirley, you canât be serious?
This isnât about the threat of personal harm. Itâs about the threat of societal and political harm resulting in the loss of freedom. Perhaps itâs not something you value, but I value the hell out of it.
So your basically a narcissist that doesnât care about anything that doesnât happen directly to you? Got it. Forgive me for caring about what happens to the country and others as a whole. Like I said before, this crap skews way outside the âShit Happensâ metric. This is shit that shouldnât be happening. Refrigerators falling on people? Give me a break.
Why? It doesnât affect you.
Okay, that is valid. If you were going to be fair, you should then refrain from calling them violent and make your position around this:
What freedom are you scared of losing as a result of the protests? I donât see a path to a loss of freedom.
This ignores the context of what I posted. I already said we should address these issues, but the response should be in proportion to the issue.
I was just using that statistic to show that calling them violent protests is a mischaracterization.
I havenât said we shouldnât address things that are outside of impacting me. I am saying we should be logical about how big of an issue things are and give an appropriate response.
So acknowledging the largest race riots in the history of the country are a problem that needs to be solved is inappropriate? Show me another time where we had pervasive violent riots for over 140 daysâŠ
If you have examples of more massive riots in size and duration of the BLM riots, I am all ears. I know American history pretty well and I have never seen anything the size and scope of the BLM\ ANTIFA riots. They wanted attention, they got it.
I am not convinced we have had âpervasive violent riotsâ. I mean so far they have killed about 1/13th the amount of people who die falling out of bed each year. The data just doesnât back up the claim. Right wing media if taken as truth does though.
Just wowâŠ
So, I suppose all the riots and shit in the '60âs were no big thing either. I donât know why the hell we read about them in the history books. Nothing really happened! More people died falling out of bed after all.
The âright wing mediaâ didnât make up the riots. They didnât even pay as much attention to them as they deserved.
And this is not âright-wing mediaâ:
But, they donât affect you, donât worry. Only 7% of the protesters were violent. That means if your in a crowd of 100, only 7 of them are throwing moltov cocktails, swinging bats, throwing rocks, fireworks (commercial grade), etc.
So next time your in a place where there is a group, you have the security of knowing only 7% of them want to do harm. Hell, if 93% of your body is cancer free, youâre in the pink!
Hell, most of the time you arenât going to be robbed, why lock the door?
âThe violent crime rate in Minneapolis is 1,101 per 100,000 residents.â â thatâs pretty low. Only the 19th highest in the country. You could be 18th.
Sensationalized? They would even report they existed for over 90 days⊠Thatâs the opposite of sensationalized.
Thread started about not polluting other threads with different topic turns into the 30th different place racial things are being discussed. PWI doing PWI things!
You speak power to truth (or however that goes)! Stop hijacking the religious thread created to keep us from hijacking other threads! I miss the good old days when religion had a near monopoly on thread hijacking. Young upstarts!
Letâs debate Calvinism, Arminianism, provisionism, open theism, or something. Man!
I meant it in jest but also proudly.
In the old days we had more posters but the same threads that went up and down. Now since we have so few people posting we just take debates with the same person from one thread to the other.
Whatâs the story with your picture?
Lol. Thatâs my write in for President, Brian Carrol.
I had to zoom in. Hadnât heard of the party before so did some googling. Cool stuff. I didnât know if it was you at first!
Well, religion does have close ties to culture and politics lol. Itâs good enough that no one is here just to argue that religion is stupid and all. Weâve made a little progress IMO.
Nope not me. Just like how quirky they look there. And, since Iâm going to pretty much commit to the party for now on, I might as well advertise them.
Well I hadnât heard and now I have so itâs working! Would love anything that brings more ideas to the table than just D or R locked.
Doesnât know what a race riot is.
