Refeed before Reverse diet

I have been in a very drastic calorie deficit for almost 5 months now and about to start my reverse dieting phase to get into a surplus is it smart to have a refeed day to kill my really bad cravings from dieting for so long so I can stay locked in to the reverse diet ?

Is this a refeed day or a cheat day? With the goal of it being to kill cravings rather than replenish glycogen, it’s sounding more like the latter.

Probably more so leaning towards the chest day aspect I feel as if I just need like 1 day of a diet break to enjoy food again so then I can not being craving in the reverse diet

There is nothing wrong with a refeed if your talking about just eating more of your normal diet food.
If your talking about crushing 3 pizza’s for 5 days straight that’s a different story.

FYI-This is not a good idea unless your prepping for the stage.
Your best course of action is just a slow reverse. Anything else and you will have a big rebound and all your work will be lost.
Slow and consistent is always best in this game.

I’d be pretty concerned about this behavior reinforcing disordered eating habits. Unless you’re prepping for a competition, I don’t understand why you’re living this way in the first place.

Because it sounds like you’re planning on eating in the same way for this reverse diet. White knuckling isn’t sustainable, and the aftermath is pretty awful.

Figure out what you’re craving, figure out WHY you’re craving it, and then figure out a way you can eat and live without being food focused.

  • whats your bodyweight ?
  • current daily caloric intake?
  • amount of weight loss in 5 months ?

You can refeed before your reverse diet, but you should keep it very restrained.

As mentioned above, if you’re looking for reasons to smash some shitty unhealthy food - that is NOT a refeed.

I would anticipate being hungrier during your reverse diet than you were during your cut. A few people I know who’ve done well regimented reverse diets, and they were hungrier during this phase than when they were cutting.

The more strict you can be during your reverse diet, the less fat you will regain and the longer the duration your growth phase can be.

1 single Complete day of eating whatever you want after 150 days of strict eating. And then back to the strict, no cheating diet?

The internet says The Rock did that in 2014. So you’re probably OK.
